Hello ladies,
My boyfriends PIR is this Friday(finally!:) but I have some questions
And I'd appreciate some advice from those who have been through
PIR. I've gotten some suggestions on transportation from my PIR group
But I still want to get more just to be on the safe side. What transportation
Would you recommend if I'm traveling from o'hare airport to navy lodge?
What would be safe but affordable?

Thank you I'd really appreciate some advice and even with the clothing,
I already have the outfit for PIR but I'm unsure about the shoes, I want to
Wear winter booties but I've seen that a lot don't recommend heels since
There's a lot of walking and waiting, so idk, I'm used to wearing heels but I
Know this may be different, some advice would help(:

I wore boots with a short heel and I was fine.  It's been cold so dress in layers to be on the safe side.  As far as transportation, Sarge is one of the guys that hosts PIR Meet & Greets and he has a cab company.  Here is the number 847-212-0246.  You can also take the train to save money but I don't know how adventurous you are.  PIR is so much fun - Enjoy!

thank you tiffany, they recommended sarge too, so i should probably go for sarge, and well i'm adventurous but maybe i shouldn't be if im going alone lol

thank you so much i appreciate you're advice it really helps(:

I wore flats to my husbands PIR last week but my mother in law wore heels and was fine. We took a shuttle and ended up walking for about ten minutes total it was no big deal. Bring flats for later though! We did a lot of walking after graduation especially in libertyville. It also got very very cold the last day we were there. The wind is brutal

thank you, i feel better now lol i'll make sure to take flats just incase

I would say if you are comfortable in heels you should be ok. I would probably take flats jic. But you have to walk across base to the NEX and then stand there and wait while the guys walk back to their barracks and then back across to the NEX lol then you have to walk back across to the other side where you parked. But if you are comfortable in heels it wont be more than a mile of walking and I think we waited for like 30 minutes and my husband was in the farthest barracks away from the NEX.

Thank you for the advice and information meagan(: i'll really take that walking back and forth into consideration, for sure i'll take some extra shoes just in case

you are welcome! Enjoy PIR!!! :) If its cold definitely make sure you have a thick coat!!! the wind cuts right through you! and its great to sit on during PIR! lol

thank you i will(: && OMG, being from south texas where its NEVER cold, and people get excited when its 70 degrees and take their boots out, doesn't help lol I hope its cold enough for me to get numb and not even feel the cold weather anymore lol

I will be going by my self to PIR as well i am wearing booties with a low heel, i say dress to impress this is an important day for him!!! So pull out the heels  :) "soak the feet later hahah"

you just made me feel much better lol i'm definitely wearing my booties(:

is his PIR this friday too??

:) glad i could help..yea it is on friday!!

oh thats great! are you going to the meet and greet?? I want to go, they say its helpful, plus, since i'm going by myself it'll take up some of my time
