Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 906 and 907.

Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hi there. My son is in this group. Still haven't heard from him. Hoping for a call tomorrow.
My daughter is ship 2 div 906 last time she called was 2 tuesdays ago. She didn't say much about bc but I know that the div is doing well I would love to hear if anyone else called and/or any news on how they are

Another mom just heard from her daughter in this division - posted on fb 900 Div.  Said only 2 or 3 people in the division failed inspections this week, so sounds pretty good for the team overall.  She could only talk for 3 minutes, but said she could call on Saturday & talk longer.  Keep sending our SRs positive thoughts!   We haven't had a call since Veteran's Day or any letters.  I also read that they mailed letters out this past Sunday.  :)  Mailman stalking again tomorrow...

My son is also in this group and we have not heard anything yet either.  My older son who graduated in 2009 said it is probably because of the extra drilling and things they have to do in this division and to be patient.

Hi everyone. My son is in this group 907 . I didn't get any letter and/or phone calls. Hopefully we will get the form for Adopt a Sailor for Christmas this week if nothing else. I live right outside of Chicago. It's about an hour away from Great Lakes. The weather yesterday was pretty nice. Mid 50's for Thanksgiving. Today it's pretty windy and only in the mid 30's.

I spent yesterday with 46 SR from 029 and 030. We hosted Thankdgiving dinner for them. They just did the gas chamber the day before. Pretty amazing what they put these men through. They also said that they eat just about the same thinng at every meal. But it's not too bad. They said that the petty officer says "anything perceived is reality". I said what does that mean? They explained anything he thinks you are doing you are doing. If they thnk you glanced away then you did and it's a hit. If they think you smiled then you did and it's a hit. 3 hits and you fail inspection. It was very interesting talking to them I have posted pictures to my album if you want to see the SR. I am finding out how to make them public viewing.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  My son is also in this group - 906; he was allowed a call last night!!   Only a couple minutes - but I couldn't even speak for the first 30 seconds I was crying so hard!  (Kinda creeps up on you!!)  He sounded SO GOOD!  Exhausted, but confident...he said (like another post) that he will get to call on Saturday!!  Guess what I'm doing on Saturday..lol!!!   Hope to meet you all on 12/28!!

Hi - anyone here know if their SRs recieved Recruit Heaven yesterday?  Anyone get a (much needed) phone call?  Heard from my son on Thursday that they'd be able to call on Saturday - but never got a call.

Thanks,

T

Nothing yet. Maybe today. Staying by the phone.

Yeah, got my cell phone in one pocket and the house phone in the other!  With all this nervous energy my house has never been so clean!!! lol!

I have a letter!!  Division 907.  He says he's the units APO - athletic petty officer.  He said the P-days were really bad.  Standing in line at attention.  At that point he wanted to go home.  Once the actual bootcamp started he said it was better because they were actually doing something - not just standing and waiting but it is hard.  He sounded real good and upbeat.  He is sticks and will perform in 3 graduations and if his unit doen't mess up they will graduation early in the ceremony on graduation day.  He told me to keep sending the letter cause he loves to hear from us.  He writes on the floor because he is only allowed on the bed when they sleep.  He says his division is good because it is a performing division so there is alot of practice. Their division started with 88 recruits and now there are 85. They do watch usually 5 out of 7 days and its for 2 hours during the night.

WATCH YOUR MAILBOXES -- THE LETTERS ARE COMING FROM 907!  YEAH!!!

Thank you for sharing this.  You made my morning.  At least we know they are alive and doing well.  Back to stalking the mailbox

What a difference a day makes. We got 3 letters today and now know our SR is doing great.can't wait for PIR. 28 more days!
