Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 039 and 040.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I have gotten a one page, three line letter besides the form letter...My son is same ship and div as yours.

My son's girlfriend got a letter the week before last, and my grandmother, his dad and I each got letters Friday.  Mine was 2 pages and it was written in all caps.  He was on bedrest because they pulled his wisdom teeth so I think he had more time.  They can only write on Sunday's and they have other things they have to do that day as well.  He said for me tell the other people in the family he hasn't had a chance to write them but to please keep the letters coming.  He said bootcamp wasn't bad at all.

Keep writing your sailor as much as possible!

I was THRILLED to hear from him!

Rebecca, You are not alone in your thought (or actions :) )   Hang in there!  My son will be staying in GL for A school as well but for GM school. I got a very short letter, about 3 lines total...Not a happy Mom over here either BUT I know they are busy  training and such...Just write him every chance you get...They still get our mail even if they can't get any out to us...They may also be trying to get someone to pass the mail Petty Officer job. {{{HUGS}}}

Nothing from my son today.  We received a 2 page letter last Thursday, written on the previous Sunday.  It was all personal stuff he wanted to tell us.  There was nothing about boot camp at all.  Said he would save that for a phone call.  I know he wrote Sunday.....maybe the mail just didn't get out on Monday.  Friday we should have some for sure!

I gave my son those instructions in my letter today!  There just has to be mail today!  I have rsvp'd for Sarge's meet and greet.  My husband and Austin's 5 siblings will be there too....Look forward to meeting you!

Is the meet and greet for Ship 3? I just joined this today.

It is for family and friends of those coming to see their SR graduate.  It is held every week.

I received my First Phone call Two days ago, my son is on ship 03 div 039

Hi!   We met at the MEPS Bldg. the day the boys left!  Austin is also 03/039.  We are planning to go up for Christmas to "Adopt" him for the day.  He said he had mailed out the paperwork Monday so we should get it today.  I bet your son did too!    Got a two min. call two days ago and said he would get to call back for longer that night or next day, but we did not hear back and we also all have phones with us at all times!

My son is in div 40. We have received one letter last week. checking mail everyday hoping. Also hoping to get a phone call tomorow.

My son is in Ship 03, Div 039. I received a letter today with responses to questions I had previously asked him so I know he has received at least one of my letters.  He will attend A school in Great Lakes for AEFC and C school there also. He will be up in Great Lakes for at least a year to finish his schooling (according to his contract with the Navy).  He is only 18 and graduated high school in June of this year.  He is my youngest of 3 children.  He was in DEP since Feb. so he's wanted to be in the Navy for months. His letters are upbeat and funny!! For Christmas last year we got him a membership to the Y and he went almost every day so he could be conditioned and ready for Boot Camp - so I know his PT is not an issue for him. So that is my son!!

Yes, just me is flying up!!  Too expensive to take my husband and daughter. I am flying Southwest up on Thursday morning and flying back on Sunday night with (hopefully) my SR with me for the week. He will then fly back up out of Daytona on Sunday the 6th.  Haven't made any motel reservations yet and don't think I will go to the expense of renting a car (haven't driven in snow in 30 years!!) so will rely on Sarge and the trains to get me up and back. Are you from Florida? Are you going to graduation?
