Hi everyone!

I e-mailed the POA office in Pensacola about leave after graduation. This was there response:

Good morning, ma'am.

Your inquiry about leave following your SR's graduation from boot camp the
28th was routed to our office.

For any recruits outbound to A-school out-of-state, they will graduate the
28th and then proceed directly to A-school the following day, where they
must check in and can then request leave directly from A-school.  I hope
this answers your question, ma'am-- please feel free to contact me via the
channels below if there is anything further I can do for you.

Thank you and have a fine Navy day!

Very Respectfully,

LT Liza Swart
Public Affairs Officer
Recruit Training Command

So get with your SR and see what they would like to do if they are granted leave. Hope this helps!

Thanks, Rickysgirl!  It is what I figured it probably would be.  Just good to know for sure. Got a call from my son this morning.  He sounded so much better.  I think they all have colds though!

No problem. Yeah, once one gets sick they all get sick! Too bad we can't send them vitamin C! I am jealous of all these calls lol, but happy to get all the letters I have been getting :) Ship 11 RDCs give us some love lol

Thank you Ricky's Girl! I am guessing that all of theose flying out will do so like normal and follow the same basic procedure. They are just going to have to check with there A schools. The hard part is getting travel arrangements ready. Means everyone is going to have to find out where their Sailor is going to A school and contact them.

Hmmm, well while I am not crazy about the fact that you all have to go through this right off the bat (geez, so familiar with all of this!), the "silver lining" is...you get to go through this right off the bat! LOL

I would look at is another part of new training for families...but I would stomp my way through it initially!

You're welcome! Yeah, I wish we could make travel plans early, but expedia and spirit have great last minute deals so hopefully something will work out there. If he wants to get home, we'll make it happen!

Being my father in law is just an hour outside Pensacola I may see if my son wants to take a day or two and go over there to Mobile to spend time with him versus coming all the way back home. that way he can be picked up by his grandfather then returned to base that way.
