Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 039 and 040.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Yes, I want to preorder one - how do I find you on e-bay?  Let me know if you are going to do this.

I would like to order one as well!! Pre-ordering is fine with me. :)

Count me in too!  Pre-ordering sounds great to me.

I would love to pre-order - if it's ready in time for PIR, that would be great.  If not, still great!  I am deeply amused that THIS is the ship my computer-nerd son was assigned to.  Wait 'til I tell his Dad!

Has anyone found any pics of ship 03 yet?  Dying to see my recruit! LOL

My son got his first paycheck today! (It was deposited into his bank account.)  I wasn't expecting that.  Somehow I thought he wouldn't get paid until AFTER BC.  Here's a question:  what rate do they pay SR's at?  At the expected rank at graduation or is there a base rate for SR's?  In theory, he'll graduate BC at E-3.

My understanding is they pay at E-1 unless they have advanced while at Boot Camp and then they will retro it back to the beginning of Boot Camp after he graduates from Boot Camp.  Yes, my son got his paycheck also - I asked him on the phone yesterday if it eased his "pain" any to know he was getting paid for all this - he said, "Heck, yah"!!

For those that would like to pre-order the USS Hopper Ship-3 coin.  You can

find the link here:

We are hoping (or Hoppering ~ha) to have it by the 21 Dec PIR. It's going to be close.

I ordered my coin and even if it ships after PIR on 12/28/12 he will get it when he is home on leave.  Thanks!!

I ordered the coin!! I can't wait to see it in person! I know Zach will love having his first coin!

Ordered the USS Hopper Challenge Coin today!  So excited - even if it's not here in time for PIR, our SR will LOVE it!

Has any one from DIV 039 heard if their SR have had newspaper clippings, stamps, etc "confiscated". Just wondering because I sent some band aids, if he was able to keep them I want to send more. I also sent a large envelop with extra postage so he could send back mail he has received....save some room.
