Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Ship 03 (USS Hopper) Divisions 039 and 040 (Brother Divisions)
Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 039 and 040.
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Besides the "I made it here" phone call, I've gotten two phone calls from my son. The last time I spoke to him, he said he would be calling again the next Monday, but I haven't received a call since. I get a week's worth of letters in one envelope every week. He writes one every night, and then mails them all Sunday. I write him and mail a letter to him every day. Although they can only mail their letters out once a week, they receive mail every day, and they really look forward to it.

LOL. He probably should be doing more studying instead of writing. He likes to write, and I think it makes him feel a little less homesick. I hope you hear from your son soon.

My sr is in 03/040 and I have not received any letters for about two weeks and wondering how things are going but I am getting very nervous. We are going up to spend Christmas day and will stay for pir.

Ship 03 div 039 I waited too long to book my flight and paid costly for it, I still do not know what is the procedure? are they going to graduate regardless? I know that this is the week we suppose to receive a Phone call saying "Mom I am a sailor" but what happens if they do not pass the drill ?Will they keep on going through it until they do right before graduating? Any way whats done is done, hope he will graduate on the 12/28/12, ,and that I will be there with him .

The last I heard from my son was that they were beginning to come together and work well as a team. I'm expecting another batch of letters hopefully today, and I'll post an update.

I received a letter every week now since the first week they were allowed to write, so far three of them, the last ones were shoreter.My son is on ship 03 div 039 they are brothers. There were Two Tel. calls, one I missed and had a message left...the letters arrive towerd the end of the week so that I expect one to day, will post a message if will get one.

Hi there! My son is in the same ship and division. I got a letter today saying they "flagged" their compartment inspection and athletics! They were preparing for an inspection this past Monday for Drill and Test 2. Does anyone know what Test 2 is?

Hi again, what do you mean by "FLAGGED" please explain, I juast finished talking to SERGE, made arrangememnt for my pick ups, in and out, sounds very nice, I asked him what is the chance of them not making it, he just said,"think possetive" so that is what all of us have to do...I do not know what test 2 is, I would never thought it will be so difficult to get the right information about anything.

I think "flagged" means they earned a flag or flags. I received my son's letters yesterday, and he said they earned flags, so I'm guessing that's what it means.
