For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

No jae they can't for security reasons i just asked that question the other day. Sorry i know its hard cause some families have more than the alotted number of spots. I tried to give a couple of mine away but was to no.

No, recruits can no longer add the names of people that they do not know to the names they submit for the Access List. The RTC considers it a security issue. You will have to decide on the 4 people who will attend and the others will have to wait at the hotel. Make sure to write your recruit if those are not the names that he wrote on the form letter. Make sure that your recruit orders the DVD and then you can all watch it when it comes in.

This was true at one time but is no longer, it's a security risk and if your Sailor (husband) and another try it they could both get in very big trouble. I'm sorry to say, but your husband is gonna have to choose between the kids on who gets to go in. Maybe your father in law could watch the ones that son get in and meet you right after in the NEX.... That's what we did.... When my son graduated, me, his dad, his little brother, and his girlfriend went in his grandmas waited on the NEX on base and meet us right after......
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. :( I know there is a link that explains everything on here but I can't find it right now.... Try the newbies group it may have the info your looking for. Good luck to you and your husband. -

Those who are not on the Access List should NOT go to the RTC. Security is now having them return to the car and as cold as it is starting to get, waiting in the car for at least 4 hours would not be fun. They are no longer permitted to wait at the NEX since they are considered unauthorized visitors. Those not on the Access List should wait at the hotel and perhaps plan on a meeting place somewhere off of the RTC after PIR.

Unless something has changed in the past two months, Retired mlitary does not count toward your 4 nor does children under 12 years(not confident about the age)

Things have changed. Anyone over the age of 2 now counts. Retired and Active Military count as well now.

See the links I posted above. As Quiltlady said, things have changed. Recruits are now allowed only 3 or 4 guests and EVERYONE must be on the Access List except for those ages 2 and under. It was a security issue as well as exceeding fire code limits.
