Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Name of this group....Should we change it??????
The N4M site has evolved since it was first launched in the spring of 2008 and we welcome everyone, not just moms. As well as moms, we have, or have had, stepmoms, second moms, dads, stepdads, second dads, grandmothers, a grandfather at least once, wives, fiancées, girlfriends, husbands once in a while, a fiancé or two, boyfriends, sisters, aunts, at least one cousin, best friends.... and I probably missed some who have joined us at various times on Boot Camp Moms. So you see, we're a pretty diverse group. In light of that, what are your thoughts on changing the name of this group to reflect that we welcome everyone?
I have thought of Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones), which would keep the original title out of respect for the group's creator, Donna, but I want your input and there could be a much better name. I have also thought of Boot Camp Family and Friends.
What are your thoughts???

BTW, I do use "Proud Navy Mom" on the PIR groups a lot for the Pictures...not trying to exclude anyone! It's just that I run out of ideas!

I know...I have searched and most everything is specific...and I am trying to find as many new, pretty, interesting etc. ones as I can. I search and pick what I feel lead too :-)

I think its good to leave it....."mom" is a general term and sometimes dads are moms, aunts are moms, and I know I have been a mom to many kids over the years. And sometimes a mom is a dad..... lol

As a fiance, I would like to see it more inclusive... I've felt rather out of place on here in general, whereas my future mother in law seems to love it and has made many friends who are also mothers of Sailors. The only groups I generally post in are the ones specifically for girlfriends, fiances, and wives..it'd be nice to see it changed.

I have to agree. I didn't join this group for a long time due to the name - I didn't feel I would "fit". Once I did, it seems to be mostly the "moms" that speak up while us wives/gf/dads/ etc stay quiet. It would be nice to see a more inclusive term used

What about something like Boot Camp 101
I have seen many wives/dads/girlfriends/boyfriends creep in to ask a question and then not really participate because they aren't "moms". It would be really nice to make it more welcoming to everyone

Lemon, I like the name of our group. Everyone is welcome here. I don't see any reason to fix what is not broke. That's Just my thoughts. :)

I like the name of the group. Most dad's (if they are anything like my hubby) are getting their info through the mom's anyway, right? Trust my, I give him every single little detail that I get on here. Whether he wants to hear it a million times or not! :)
