Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 039 and 040.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I got the call...my son is now a Sailor!  I'm sooooo proud of all of the guys!  Thanks for all the support on this website...I couldn't have made it through without all of you ladies!

Got my call ship 03 div 040 I have a sailor one proud Texas mama here can't wait to see him Christmas morning.

The recruits had a great Christmas!

I was so sad that we couldn't fly up, but my son said he was kind of glad because there wouldn't have been much to do if he had hung around with us and they were treated like celebrities! I know everyone knows because they were able to make phone calls all day long, but I have to say the community around there really does a wonderful job taking care of our sailors. They had a police escort to the cente where they took them, there were ice sculptors on every table, they were given Chicago-style hotdogs at 11, Christmas dinner at 2, and Chicago-style pizza at 5. He said the governor of Illinois and mayor of Chicago came to see them, and community members were there all during the day. I had been distraught wondering what his Christmas was like, and he had a wonderful time.  I know he missed all the traditional things we normally do, but the Navy and that community did all they could to make it very special, and he (and we) will never forget it.

Look forward to seeing everyone at Sarge's!

My son must have been with your son as he said the same things.  He wasn't looking forward to the day but said he got to have lunch with a Vietnam Vet Special Ops guy that had lots of stories and they were all treated like royalty.  I don't think they realize how the public holds the military in such high esteem - they have been yelled at for the last 7 weeks and then they go out in public and it's like red carpet treatment.  He said he had the best day ever!!  Thank you to the Training Center and the City of Chicago!!

Same thing here, my son called me around six times and we had long conversations, they were treated red carpet , thanks to all that made it possible for them.

missnavymom!!! let's keep in touch!  the mexican food was great!

Was great to meet all of you and see the guys so happy. We enjoyed hearing stories and antics we hadn't heard from our sailor. It was an answer to our prayers to know he has been in the company of such great guys. Would like to stay in touch also....looking forward to TOMORROW!

Our flight has been cancelled. We were flying from Greenville, SC on United. I'm trying not to cry.

Okay- got a flight out of Charleston for this afternoon. I'm glad because we were going to drive the 14 hours! If this one cancels it will be too late to drive. No idea why the first one cancelled, the weather's good in Chicago.  Not sure we'll make Sarge's thing.  We get in at 7:20 and have t oget our rental car and check in.  Hope we get to, though!

Got into Chicago (the snow made the drive really interesting!), checked into our hotel, and then straight to Sarge's Meet & Greet.  Lots of good information - enough that my dad decided that we'll use Sarge's service to get to PIR tomorrow instead of driving.  I have to admit I'm relieved, since my dad driving through the traffic we're likely to see is not exactly a happy thing!  Can't wait until tomorrow!

Iim on my way back from the graduation ceremony, it was phenomenal, the greet and meet was very informative, after all the stories my son told me I really am surprised that he made it1 I'm so proud of him.

Hi All! How are your sailors doing in A School?
