Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 059 and 060.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Thanks for the update, my niece doesn't seems to give me that much detail in her letters (she was never a letter writer). I booked my flight on Wednesday only to get a letter Thursday that says there is a 'slight' chance she might get held back. I guess she got tendinitis in both knees and has been on crutches I'm guessing for a week (since no mention of crutches in the last letter). She said she was sad that she didn't get to try and medal in shooting =( due to crutches. I guess at this point I will wait to book my hotel & car until I find out for sure she gets to go to PIR on the 18th (praying all works out). I will be so bummed if she gets set back, sounds like she has made friends with her group will be sad if you cant graduate with them.

Hope everyone is enjoying their letters and just think PIR is just 3 short weeks away =)

@brandonsmom, Thanks for the information! It's nice to have an idea of what they are doing. Sometimes I can't decipher my daughter's handwriting!

Hey everyone, I was just wondering if anyone here has an SR by the last name Rogers? my son wrote me and said he was his best buddy at bc, private message me if you think this may be your son!:)

Hey, just got letters from my daughter and she said that she passed her physical and got a perfect score on her inspection. She said her group got at flag because enough of them passed their physicals. She also said she is now up front (on stick) in marching, which according to her you have to earn. She says she is working her butt off to keep it because I guess that means that if she keeps it she gets to be up front at PIR and evidently is an honor?? Anyone else know anything about this. She also mentioned hell week and that they were doing live fire on Wednesday, so if she wrote her letter approximately 5 days ago, they may be either through hell week or in it right now. She didn't date her letters to us, so I don't know when she wrote them. She told her sister that she was fixing to start hell week and that she might not be able to write for a week or so. She said that others said that hell week is really busy and that they don't get much sleep. Hope everyone else is getting letters. It makes me feel much better when I get letters...she said it makes her feel better when she does to, so we keep writing every few days.

Hello, My daughter is ship 03 div 059, PIR date is 01-18-13, I have only gotten letters no phone call except for the one when she got there :( Not happy , but her letters are starting to reassure me that she is ok. I will be attending the M&G at Flannagans but I will be a little late due to my flight not coming in until 7pm.....I do have a question if someone can answer it for me......after graduation, I understand the sailors have some time with you, but if they are leaving for A school the next day then they have to go back to the barricks......what I am I suppossed to do with her A school bag with her laptop and stuff in it? I have to fly back out that night around 6pm so I dont know what to do.....any suggesstions would be awesome

If you have to leave before she goes to the airport, one of the moms that will be able to go to the airport could give her her bag. I'm sure we could all meet up at the meet and greet and after graduation and make a plan B. My daughter said that we were allowed to go to the airport when they actually fly out...make sure you find out when her flight is exactly...all details while you have her with you. Do you know what A school she will be going to? My daughter is going to Pensacola, Florida.

Got my 3rd letter today (well not written letter but one of the questionnaires I mailed her from this site). Was really nice to get some of her responses as they gave me a little more incite on things. One thing that made me really proud was question 1. She is in week 4 day 2 and said Life here is: Fantastic, beyond her wildest expectations! (now I mailed this letter to her (from FL) on 12/19 and got it back on 12/29). She has at lease 7 new friends =) didn't give me ages or where they were from just the last names (which Im not sure if we can post that on here so I wont). Said her job was mail with a smiley face. Not sure what IT is but she got it for talking in the galley....Her group has gotten flags for Physical Fitness, Scholastic & Above Average Inspections! (next is Drill). They have also designed there Division Flag has a Phoenix on it. Lots of other questions/answers but I won't bore you all with them lol. At the end of the letter she said never laughed to hard =) So glad I sent her this and Thank You to this website for helping us find stuff to make life fun for our SR's.

Hi

Is there anyone staying at the Ramada, attending graduation of Ship 03, Div 059?

I am with my parents and my son. it is my husband that's graduating. checking in the 17th

Great, my name is Carol, hopefully we can meet prior to the PIR.  Hopefully will arrive on time to meet some family before the big day.

I'm staying at the Ramada!

Help. We want to bring our son's cell phone with us to the PIR on 1-18-13.  Does anyone know if there is a company or website to refer me to that offer's military discounts on cell phone usage.  I really don't want to put him back on our t-mobile account.  He already has a checking account with the Navy Credit Union and he can have his checking account automatically debited each month.  Thanks.
