Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Just wanted to say a quick hello. My son plans to go in after graduation. I have already signed, just hoping his dad will agree to as well. (He is in California visiting his Dad this week) If not, he will have to wait until mid March, when he is 18. But he is very excited and joining with his friend. We are loocated in Divide.

My SR was living with her dad when she signed up, but in Nevada. Sounds like we have a similar situation. It will all work out.

Well Ducky, no such luck for us...yet. He was with his Dad last week and Dad was reluctant but last night did text and ask for more info! And tonight, out recruiter, who is g\reat by the way, will be staying late to call Dad in California. If all goes well and his Dad signs, it will be a done deal by the end of the week! After thatm how long does it take before they go to MEPS?

Jen, It depends on a number of factors. My daughter opted for the delayed entry program DEP, so for her it was 6 months. If your son wants to go in right away it would be sooner, but I think it depends on how many others are in the system, his classification etc.....only the Navy knows for sure.
