Count 9 Fridays to get the most likely PIR date, 03/15/2013, but know that it could be the week before, 03/08/2013, for those arriving on a Monday or Tuesday, as your son did, if they are among the last to fill a division from the TG before.  You will not know the PIR date for certain until you get the form letter. See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones).

Join the group, DEP-Leavin' for Boot Camp in January, to connect with others with loved ones who left the same day and may have PIR together.

Thank you just figured out there was a reply. He is graduating 3/15, if all goes as planned. He always helped me out on the computer. I guess it is time i took a class

You are welcome.  You are figuring some things out since I see you have joined PIR 03/15/2013.

cathycoachmom, I see you have joined Corpsman Moms; sometime between now and the end of BC, join HM (Hospital Corpsman) A School in San Antonio (clickable link). The info card for HM is at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/hm.pdf.

Thanks so much, lemonelephant! I can't tell you how much your support and this great site means to me :)

You are very welcome.

My son left on Monday as well and I can certainly relate to the bond as that is what I share with my son and this has been extremely difficult.  I've had several emotional moments over the past two days and I'm just praying that with each passing day it gets a little easier...perhaps once we start getting contact.  Stay strong!

Ya..they are doing great job but to be away from him, not hearing his voice kills me..i just hope he get to write me letter soon and call me soon too..cant wait to hear him..days pass by but nights are hard

I see you have joined Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones); also join the group, DEP-Leavin' for Boot Camp in January, to connect with others with loved ones who left today and may have PIR together. You may also want to join, or at least check out, Girlfriends, Fiances, and Wives of Sailors, Navy Girlfriends, PROUD NAVY GIRLFRIENDS:), Boot Camp GirlfriendsPIR Reference Information, and New Members Stop Here. Once you know your SR’s PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that once it has been created. There will be a lot of great information and support for you in those groups. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions within the groups. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening, but you will also want to check out the other Pages in all of the groups.

My son also left on Monday, January 14 and it's nice to find others in the same situation as me.  I feel so empty and this is my first experience with him being away from me not to mention the NO CONTACT at all. I have a very special bond with my son and I find myself having emotional "ups and downs" and my husband doesn't seem to understad why I'm upset - tells me it is mind over matter and I need to think about all the positives.  I get that and I am the one who is the proudest of my son but being separated is tough and sounds like you all feel the pain too.  I just joined NAVYFormoms and I'm hoping to find comfort and friends on here to go through this journey together.  I also started writing the day he left and find that it helps. This site seems to contain alot of information; I'm hoping I don't get overwhelmed.  I haven't figured it all out yet but if we can become friends, I'd love to do so with those of you.  Thanks!

Take the info a little at a time and it will be less overwhelming.  BC is a time for you to learn as well, but just like your recruit, you have 8-9 weeks to do it in.  I suggest you start with OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes To Your Profile) (because everyone should read that) and Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and work down the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) a few a day.  Join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) while you are there and you may also want to join, or at least check out, PIR Reference Information and New Members Stop Here. Join the group, DEP-Leavin' for Boot Camp in January, to connect with others with loved ones who this week and may have PIR together.

Stay strong, Nicksmom! We will get through this together, just as our boys are doing.
