OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

A School Marriage -- How Long for Navy to Process
Ladies! My SN and I will be getting married as soon as he reaches Phase 3 (and apparently after we get permission... thanks for leaving that piece out Mr. Recruiter). I know it is very much dependent on specific circumstances but generally speaking how long does it take for the Navy to receive, process, and officially update his status to married?

Like you said it's dependent on specific circumstances. My husband's page 2 was updated the same day he brought in all of the paperwork to add me (his yeoman did it while he was standing there) and we started receiving BAH on his next paycheck including the back BAH from the date of our marriage. Some people it can take up to a month, some even longer.

Pretty quickly to add you to page 2 and get your Tricare started. As in, one working day if he has all the correct info to take to PSD. However, letting the detailer know so his status for receiving orders can change from unaccompanied to accompanied, that can take a month or more for that form to get into the system. BAH can take a few pay cycles to kick in, from a couple weeks to eight weeks.

I know the Navy will not pay for me to move to A School but since he will be there for 16 months, they will let him live off base as is. Will we be allowed to live together if his orders do not say accompanied? We aren't too worried about BAH timing because he is saving up everything right now but that is another thing to consider. Trying to figure out how quickly after we get married I can move there... we are getting married mid-March so I hope things will be in place by the end of April.

I was not on my husband's A school orders either, since we got married during. Like you said they did not pay to move me to his A school but since it was so long (also 16 months) we just paid to move myself out here. He will have to put in a Live Ashore/Brown Bagger chit but as long as he makes it to class/musters/watches on time he should be able to live off base with you no problem. Keep in mind it can be revoked and they can make him move back on base for breaking any rules, not showing up on time, etc.

No, you'll get BAH for whatever zip code you live in since he's in school. So if you move to live with him you'll get BAH for where ever his schooling is. But you will have to pay to actually move yourself and your stuff there.

FYI...the recruiters are to only give out general information, they don't know what happens at ever school as things change all the time.
Keep in mind, if you get married after he has orders the Navy will not pay to move you and if he has orders over seas already you will be left behind in the states for his whole tour.

Fair point! We are getting married as soon as he hits Phase 3 and he will be in A/C School for 16 months, so it will be well before any orders are placed. But yes, I am still back-burner nervous that he somehow has some secret orders in place that I won't be placed on :P

nahh they can't give him orders until they know he will pass the school, every school has a certain point when they give the students orders as that is the norm for when they know they will pass the school. (does that make sense)
