Is it unreasonable to feel hurt by this?:

My boyfriend had been in bootcamp since December 10th. Since he left, I have faithfully been writing him letters everyday, and sending him tons of pictures as well. So far, he had written me 5 letters. He said he can only write on Sundays and I understand that he is always busy. I do not expect him to send me a letter everyday... I do not even need a letter with more than one page. However, the past three letters have been really short (about 5-10 sentences each). These last three letters sounded like he is always in a hurry. The last letter didn't even have the words I'd like to see (ex: i love...or i miss u...) I asked his mom for advice, but she said that he might be busy, and he might also be using his time to write letters to his brothers and other friends.

I guess I'm just hurt because I always thought that if u care for someone so much, writing a letter for that person shouldn't be that hard or time-consuming. I even see letters sent by other SRs to their gfs.... they are freakin' long! More than one page usually!

Please help.. I think I'm losing my mind today. I do not even feel like sending him letters anymore. =(

thank you for your words, Caitclair... you totally made me feel better =) i guess i am not alone.

The recruits are only allowed to write on Sundays, the same day they have to do laundry, iron, study, etc.  If they get caught writing at night, the entire division could lose their writing privileges!!!!     Face it, he is't a letter writer... doesn't mean he doesn't love you or think about you, he just sucks at expressing it in writing!

Hang in there, this stage will be over.  When he's in A school, he can call and text (within limits) and when he deploys, he'll have email (again, limited).

Thanks Anti M! I appreciate your reply =) I guess I have to be reminded that bootcamp isn't really about me. And my primary role is to support him, and not cause drama at this point. I have to be patient... I will never know how difficult bootcamp really is for him and for all the recruits.

I know how you feel... Funny thing is I thought I was selfish for feeling like that too. I wrote so many letters only to receive a letter back saying my letters weren't received. Like a three page letter talking about I am too busy to write letters..( which is totally untrue). But once my letters were received my SRs letters started getting shorter. So I really do know how you feel.

Thank you for understanding. I guess I should be thankful that I received a short letter from him... rather than nothing! =) It's good to know that other ladies had the same experience though.

Well my SR has only wrote me three times and we have a daughter together I felt some kind of way at first but I feel like eveyones else does they are busy and I know that he loves us he didn't even write I love u or I miss our baby he is trying to get through this u have to be stronger then what u are because its gone be times where u won't get to talk to him or write him and u got to show him that you can handle it being with someone in the military is not easy but its rewarding in the in.

Thanks destinee! Your words really matter.... I'm feeling a little selfish now (which is a good thing). You are right, I have to be stronger! I have to remember that bootcamp is not all about me, my primary role is to support him. I should say that I really now have a different level of respect for you and the other ladies out there who have been in the military life for a looooong time =) Reading all you ladies' posts made me feel a lot better.... Thanks a lot!

Trust me, it does get easier / you get used to it with time :-)

I sure hope so sailorwifenmom. Thank u =)
Anything I can do to help he graduates Friday...I know from my brother and his wife so I kind of knew what to expect

Wow! Congratulations! Our SR is graduating on Feb 8th...  you must be very excited! I can't wait for my turn... Have fun!
