Please get married before bc and save yourselves a bunch of unnecessary trouble. Nothing bad will happen, your recruiter is only trying to avoid doing more paperwork.

I thought that might be the case!! Thank you  =)

You're welcome!
Oh, and welcome!!!! :)

Yes, the recruiter told my husband exactly the same, but they told us is because they have to do more paperworkd, so we just got married before he left for bootcamp, and now we have a house on base and everything : )

If its only more paperwork then its worth it to get married before, Great for you guys! I cant wait to be able to say the same thing =)

BEFORE!!!!  The recruiter says that because they don't want to do extra paperwork.  But it will make a huge difference for you guys.  Financially, whether you will end up on his orders, moving to his duty station and/or school, etc.  I can't stress enough how much better it is for you guys to get married before he goes.

Marriage does change his contract, but not by much.  Just a change from without dependents to with dependents.  It should not affect his rating selection whatsoever.  However, the recruiter needs some time to get the new paperwork submitted, at least four weeks.

Ask the recruiter EXACTLY what "problems and delays" that would be.  There should be none, unless you have kids.  More than one child requires a waiver, and he could lose his eligibility in that case.

His ship date is June so that should be plenty of time, no children so that wont be a problem. We are going to talk to him Thursday so hopefully he will encourage us this time not try and talk us out of it. T
