Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 123 and 124
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

I am so sad,my heart just aches! I missed my son's call this morning, he actually called a few times but I was out helping my husband dig us out of 26 inches of snow...... I am feeling so sad! :( I pray he can call again but its getting late. Its going to be a hard day! I actually had my cell phone with me in a special pocket on vibrate but with the layers of underarmour, guess I did not feel it! Anything you can share about ship 03 Div 123 would be appreciated! Dam blizzard! Signed: Devastated in Rhode Island!
Nick's Mom My SR called me the same time he did last Saturday so I got up and had my phone attached to me and sure enough he called around the same time. Me and his stepfather had him on speaker and he we got to talk to him for like 20 mins. And his grandmother and his cousin happen to come while I was on the phone so he got to talk to them also. He said their division is doing good, he sounded so excited and proud that he's doing good. I am sure your SR is doing great also. I am sorry you missed the call. My sons father also missed his call he was in the shower and was very upset also. He said the have their first written test this Tuesday.
Nick's Mom - So very sorry to hear you missed the call. I am sure he is doing better this week. My SR called this morning and he sounded much better than the first call. I think they are all getting used to Navy life. I truly hope he can break away and give you a call tomorrow. I once missed my Marine son's call from Afghanistan after not hearing from him in a month. I stepped away from my desk for a few minutes and missed the call. I virtually had the cell phone next to me at every moment except that one time!!! I had to wait 3 more weeks before I heard from him... I could have filled a bathtub with all the tears!! Hope you feel better and I am sure if he talked to any of the kids from the east coast they told him about the blizzard and hopefully he will be able to call tomorrow! I know Dennis said they are really busy and will be getting fitted for their dress whites!!
Hope you feel better! Kathy
Just saw that you missed the call....so sorry! yeah.....Damn Blizzard!
Somoza's mom = thank you! Its such a terrible feeling knowing I could have talked to him! He tried to call 5X, unsure why I did not get the vibrate....so angry! I know he won't call again. Next Saturday I won't be moving from my phone. Did he say what the written test was going to be on? The unit must be doing well if they got calls two saturdays in a row! So sad.....
Nick's Mom he did tell me what it was on but I cant remember, He said that it was alot more book work then physical training for them. I know that he said that they did have their PT test and some did move up to E2's. He said all his brothers are working well together. They started with 92 and are now down to 86. I know that my SR is letting other SR's use his phone card if the others dont have one. He will call you again. They had their first inspections also so they must of passed because they got to call home. My Son did say to make sure I date his letters because they aren't sure of the date's and days. I will pray for you that he will call next week and that you will get to talk to him.
I got a call today from Matt. Sounds soo upbeat today. Say's things are much better for him than last week. Says he is doing good and had his wisdom teeth out Monday. Still alittle sore. But studing with the guys at night and writing every night. So happy he is feeling better about this proccess.
HI Kathy, I feel a little better and relieved! Just listened to my house messages on house phone (we never do) and my son left a message today saying he could not get thru mu cell phone. At least I can hear his voice anytime I want now - I made death threats to anyone in the house saying not to delete the message. He still has a really bad head cold! Said to expect a call this Wednesday and asked I keep my phone close....awe! Did your SR say that too about a call on Wed? Its not the greatest but at least I have a message to listen too which is better than nothing! :)Tammy
So happy to hear he called and left a message!! I too would throw out threats if it were deleted! My husband is famous for erasing messages before I get them. I booked our flights and hotel today and we are so excited about going to see him. We will get there on Thursday and are staying at Springhill Suites. My son never mentioned anything about calling on Wednesday, but I have my home calls transferred to my cell and my cell is with me at all times. He really sounded good and upbeat when we talked to him. He asked us to write alot because he misses the goings on in our house. I still keep my notebook with me and when I get a fe minutes I jot down some things that are going on. Keeping him in the "loop"! Hoping Wednesday comes quick for you!! Kathy :)
We got a call this morning also! He also had he wisdom teeth pulled and sounded much more upbeat. He said he loves getting letters from home and keep them coming. Said it really helps him stay motivated! He asked me to send a blank birthday card, one of his SR mates birthday is on the 26th (I believe) and they are going to sign it and give it to him on his birthday! I told him that was really sweet, he told me it tough being away from home and we have to work together! I am always proud of my son, always thinking of others!!! My son is in Ship 03 Div 124 so let me know if your sons bday is on the 26th! I am pretty sure that is the date he said, those phones are hard to hear sometimes, so it could be a day or so off!
Nicks mom-my heart aches for you! But I am happy you got to hear his voicemail! I would threaten my family also never to delete! lol
