For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

New to the group :)

Hi everyone, I'm Alejandra :D

I've been on this site for a couple months now, just browsing and I didn't have the courage to sign up until a while ago. Umm, where do I start?? Well, I guess I can start by saying that I am in a relationship a Navy sailor named Andrew. We've know each other since 2nd grade and we were friends all through out grade school and high school. And a year after we graduated, we started dating and we've been together for almost 2 years now and we recently got engaged! We kind of had a head start on having a long distance relationship because I moved from AZ to NM :(

Gosh, I hope this isn't too long lol. When Andrew came to me and told me he wanted to enlist, I was nervous. But I was excited because I knew how happy he was to start a career. He leaves really soon, within a week and it's really starting to hit me that he's leaving. With that being said, I'm really excited to meet other Navy gf/fiances and wives and share our experinces with each other :D

He's going in as a medic. He's still going through the paperwork with his recruiter so we probably have a little ways to go. My question is do you have any plans to keep yourself busy when your bf leaves? I'm still trying to figure out what to do to keep myself sane when he leaves. Lol!

I recently moved states and I don't know anyone lol, so I was thinking about voulnteering at a local community center. I think I'll also take yoga classes and try to maintain a hobby like knitting lol. We really have to figure out something to do while they are gone in order to keep our letter to our bf's interesting lol!!

Definitely! I have done some knitting in the past when I was in college. When he comes home, he will have a bunch of scarves lol!! I would also like to do some paintings as well! Maybe try out some new recipes like once a week because I love to cook! Yoga doesn't sound half bad either!

I wish I could paint but stick figures are as good as it's gonna get for me haha. I think trying out new recipes is a great idea, I love to bake :-) Taking yoga classes or even Zumba would really cool because not only is it fun, it's exercise :-)

Yes!! I want to make sure that I am in shape when he gets back! He would love that because then we could have something to do together.... Exercise lol! I can't wait for the experiences we will go through together!

So do I, I don't want him to be the only one who had been working out and getting fit lol. Exercising together is so much fun. My bf and I have done Insanity together and it definitely brought us closer together :-)

Awesome!! We would love to do either Insanity or P90X but it is so expensive!! I wouldn't mind even taking a regular hip hop class because its fun and it will keep me in shape!

You're welcome! Yes, I do not feel alone and know I come to the site for information and comfort. Hopefully after my SR graduation on 3/15/13 I will be able to pass on some valuable information.
