Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 123 and 124

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Cameronleigh, thank you so much!   I was alittle down he didn't call today.  But, in this case I think you are right...no news is good news.  It's so hard!  I know you understand that!  BTW, did you see the photos of the Hopper with our SRs?  I think I spotted mine...not 100 percent sure it was him, though

I looked and looked. Didnt see my SR, but my Matt would be in the back of any line. He's 6'4 and tall go to the back unfortuantly LOL. I keep going back to look just in case I missed something. I would love to see him in his Digies.

lol cameronleigh, mine is 6'3 and I, like you, look at the back and for the tallest! haha

Hello all. Mygrandson is Ship03 Div 124. I a'm a Navy Vet myself.I'm am following his PIR 3/22. I can't wait to see him for Graduation.

Our son is on the same ship 03 Div 123/124! glad to meet

Hello,

My name is Rebecca. I live in southern California and my son is Brett. He is on ship 03, Div 124. I was happy to read everyone's posts as I have not gotten any letters from my son since 2/7. We received two calls on Saturday's right after he left for bootcamp and then another call on a Wednesday. We missed that one as I was at work and his dad was not at home when he called. He had left a message that this would probably be his last call. I was sad to miss his call. He said he had to stand watch and it "sucked".  Other than that

he seemed upbeat and was still enjoying the experience. He also said he really likes the food and was afraid he would gain weight while in bootcamp instead of losing! I was sad to see that his division

didn't get the academic flag. Anyway, thanks for the updates. This is my second son to join the Navy

in the past 2 years. This forum saved me the first time.  I was addicted to getting on this site

and talking to other moms and finding out what we could. It was a collective effort as many of our

children don't write home much. I do know that they appreciate our letters. So, the best we can

do for them is to send the words of encouragement and keep the letters going.

I hope to meet some of you at graduation. It is an awesome experience that you will not forget.

Got a letter today!!! sooo Happy. He's says he's finally gettin it. The days go by fast with everything they do in a day. He says he's doing good., trying hard. They got fitted for dress blues and whites. He didn't get his peacoat yet because they didn't have one that fit him due to his arm length LOL He's 6'4 and wt was 130 when he left. I've always had trouble with his clothes LOL now it's the Navy's turn. He sounds good and upbeat.

Hello I received two letters today yeah!!!!! My SR sounds like everything is going ok he started wk4 day one yesterday. Only 4 more Fridays after today 4 more cant believe these 4 weeks have gone by I cant say fast but kinda. Still cry alot when I think about him which is contantly I carry his photo with me all the time on my name badge close to my heart. Before he left he left me a letter on the counter when I got home from dropping him off at MEPS. And a week later he had my neighbor tell me to look in his room where he had left me another letter, I cried because I know he was thinking his Mom was going to be missing him and somehow he managed to make me smile by him not even being here, I can't wait to see him at PIR I am so excited. I hope everyone has an awesome weekend God Bless You All.

Since my son will be staying at GL for A-school. I ordered today a military black duffle bag to take him some of his clothes and things. I read somewhere that they can only carry a black bag. Down to the half way mark !! YAY.

I got a letter today. He sounds good. He says they have lost 2 kids from their DIV for Medical. SOO sad for them. He's hanging in there trying his best. Counting down the days!!

3 More Friday's 3 More unbelievable!!!! getting so excited to see my SR. I received 3 more letter yesterday I was suprised because I usually get letters on Thursday's. He sounds so good now, a big change from the first letters when he was home sick. He's said that he's passed his PFA the second time around, he missed it last time by two pushups which he was beating himself up for.  He has passed his swim test the first go around. He said hell week wasn't so bad. They are entering week 5 day one today. When he first wrote he had told me that after graduation he just wanted to go back to the hotel and just sleep he didn't want us to plan anything, just to stay and visit. This made me cry because I knew he was home sick and there was nothing I could do to help him. Well yesterdays letters he said that he wants to go out he's craving Applebees motts sticks and his favorite chicken penne, and he wants to go site seeing and he's dying for theater popcorn. I can't wait to see my Son this has been the longest I have ever been without him, not being able to kiss him goodnite every nite and to say I Love You everyday has been so hard. I do tell him how proud I am in every letter and I think I tell him I Love Him at least a dozen times in his letters. I pray and hope all you mom's are doing good and that all your SR's are doing good also. Looking foward to PIR 3 more weeks!!!!

I talked to my SR yesterday!  He told me that next week the SRs will be taking pictures in their dress blues!  How exciting!!  I told him I wanted to buy a package and he said he was buying the package there.  I told him I would pay him back.  Also next week is a penicillin shot for all the SRs.  He was dreading that.  Didn't give me the reason why everyone was getting a shot in the ....     He also said that they took their big test last week and he scored a 4.1 out of 5....I believe 3.2 was the minimum required to pass.  Next week is the 2nd big test and then week after that is hell week.  I told him to send me a letter telling me what all he can take to A-school (as far as electronics)...he told me to bring it all!  (well, we will see if it's allowed).  Only three more weeks till graduation!
