Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 101 and 102.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Lots of people getting letters and calls. No one in my family received letters this week, nor calls, but we all received letters last week on Fri/Sat. I was told my two different mothers that my son asked their sons to let me know he was not going to be able to call. It makes me worried about my son. I hope he is okay. Anyway, hopefully we will hear something soon and congrats to all those getting letters and calls :) Ship 13, Div 101

I received more letters today and a phone call :) it was very emotional. I hope everyone else received something as well. and if you didn't, keep your heads up :) it's worth the wait!

Hello Everyone! I'm so glad to have found this site! Only wish I knew about it earlier. Our son is on Ship 13, Division 101. We are only 25 miles west of Great Lakes (in fact my husband only works about 20 minutes away from there) but we feel just as far away as the rest of you do! Loved my one minute phone call on Friday... Hope everyone else has gotten one by now also!

sandi8 My son is in Ship 13 Div 101  Welcome to the group.  It has been a ride so far.  Can't wait for PIR.  We will be arrive on Monday, to spend a few days in Chicago and also to be sure we make it in case of bad weather.  It doe not matter how close you are if you don't talk or see them or have contact.  My call on Friday was 8 min.  I guess I should be happy for that if you only had 1 min.  How is the weather there?  We are from Texas, so we are not use to the cold like that.  HA take care

taylormom- Great to hear from you! I hope our sons are buddies. Have you been to Chicago before? We live in McHenry which is near the Wisconsin border exactly straight west of Great Lakes. Let me know if you want ideas to keep you busy while you chew off your fingernails waiting for PIR! I've lived here all my life so I know the area. Good idea to come early. You never know what March in Chicago will be like. Right now it's 60 degrees and pouring rain and then it is supposed to be 15 on Friday. On MLK Day it was about 0 degrees and I was praying that they didn't have the recruits out running in the cold. My kids shovel snow in shorts but some of those southerners might not adapt well! I'm glad you had 8 minutes. My phone call was a blur! Keep in touch.

I hope they are buddies. I will get with you and find out somethings to do while we wait for PIR. I added you as a friend.

my son is also going to Pensacola

Anyone in Div 101. If you want to see the Div t shirts send me a PM and I will send you a picture. I received ours today. The flag is on the back. Pretty nice.

My son is also in ship 13 division 101. Got the "I'm a sailor" call around 2:30 this afternoon. He was so tired but beyond excited. He said that Battle station 21 was a blast. He said that they did well enough that they get an additional call tomorrow. He will stay at Great Lakes for "A" school. His job will be electronics tech. Anyone else out there have a child staying? We will attend Sarge's meet and greet. I will have my "101" pin on. Excited to meet other parents.
