It has been a long time since I have been on this site. Is there any way of knowing the schedule of the rushmore? My daughter is on board. Looking forward to getting to know you all and sharing information!

I have been receiving emails as usual this week. I have heard others say they are having problems, but for me and my sailor all has been fine. From what I understand, many are resorting to Face book and that seems to work best for them right now. Also, we have to realize the other two ships have had very little communication via internet. We are very fortunate. Are you on FB? If so, are you on the Rushmore list? There is good information and pictures posted on this site.

Hope this helps. I do know the sailors have been really busy and things are about to ramp up. They are all going to need a lot of encouragement in the next month to 6 weeks.

I pray you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I do pray you hear from your sailor soon!

I have signed up for the ship's Facebook link.  I haven't heard anything from my sailor for a week.  Usually it was every other day or so.  I even went on her Facebook and posted and private messaged her, but I haven't gotten any response, so I guess, I will have to send her letters.  I know that the phones are blocked. I received the email from the commander this week but that was the only one I received.  I guess no news is good news.

Anyone know when they may be getting back.  My daughter gave me a date but it is the day before my other daughter's college graduation.  We are in a dilemna.  Hoping that they date she gave me isn't set in stone. I really wanted to be there when she pulled in.

I have heard a couple of different days, but I am going on the Tiger Cruise from Hawaii, so once information comes about that- I will be able to private message you a confirmed date. Of course your daughter may have given you confirmed information by then as well. As usual in the navy- hurry up and wait!!!

Thanks, Judy.  We have been planning to go out since she left but now we are torn. My husband was going to stay here with my other daughter for her graduation and I would go to San Diego but now everyone is mad at us.  My sailor told us not to bother coming to go the graduation.  I have heard different dates also, I am just hoping this last date I was given isn't the one.

There is a firm date, but it isn't to be posted or printed in any way. I found out in a park at a meeting place. We are in the same boat, but it is our son's wedding that our daughter is going to miss, by only a few days.

I don't know the dates you were given, but hopefully the date that is real works for you! Hard to choose between our kids and their amazing accomplishments!

I don't have a firm date, I have heard several dates.  I don't even know when my sailor's leave is yet and I probably won't be able to get off when she comes home because I work in a 1 person office and my boss will be away in June.

I don't know if any of them have their leave set yet. I know my daughter was just now putting in for hers, but not approved yet.

I found out the actual date of home coming through codes from my daughter. If there is a significant date in your families lives that isn't published, you could use that and count forward or back. There are two dates, one for Hawaii and one for SD, depending on if you could make one or the other. Lots of us are flying to Hawaii, but not all are coming back on the ship. I hope this helps.

Have you gotten a free banner for her homecoming? It doesn't matter whether you meet the ship or she comes to you, this would work.

Hi All ~

My husband is in A school now and graduates in a couple weeks. He will be stationed on the USS Rushmore. We just found out yesterday that they are on deployment and he was told he may be flown to the ship. I know it can't be made public but can someone tell me when they are supposed to be returning to SD?

I'm just trying to work out when I'm going to move and relocate from my current location.  :)

We are not allowed to publish or talk about it in a public way. He will be told and then, what we do, is use a family date and talk in terms of that date. Go back 12 days from Aunt Suzie's Birthday, sort of thing.

Hope that helps. Welcome aboard the USS Rushmore. You can find us on Facebook. It is a private page, but go on and they will add you.

Has anyone heard from the captain lately.  Before they got the new captain, I got newsletters on a regular basis, I have only received 1 since the new captain took over.

No, haven't heard much. It was pretty regular and now not much.
