This group is for anyone who will be needing a ride between the airports and Great Lakes.  Sarge charges by the car, so the more of you who can share, the cheaper it is for all.

Please post the day you arrive, your arrival time, and the airport you are flying into .  That way, you can connect on rides. Don't think it matters too much if you all are staying at different hotels.  They are all relatively close in distance.

If someone is renting a car and has room to take some people arriving at the same time, that would be nice too!

No, we parted when he boarded the bus a MEPS. I did well til the last hug and still managed to hold it together until he walked away.
Are you on the PIR 3/8 Facebook page. You need to be! Lots of us are on there. Very active and great group. Lots of good info there too

Good for you!  I hadnt planned to see him off at the airport-he left with 7 others from MEPS.  But he asked me to go!  So I tailed that van all the way to the airport.  I just hung out and took pics of them all-there were only 2 other moms at MEPS and 1 other family that went to the airport.

Mine didn't really want me to go to the airport. There were only 3 going to Navy BC and I was the only parent at MEPS for the navy. There were only five families total but there were probably 50 kids. I was really surprised how few families.

No not on FB.   What a group-50 of them!  From what I overheard at MEPS the parents were not happy about the choice their kid made so couldn't be there to see them.   I hope they got letters-maybe that's why there is the adopt a sailor group?

I think a lot of them came from several hrs away. MEPS s only an hr from my home. However, for some it may have been their first signing and they weren't flying out. There was a whole bus full though. I can't imagine not going with him and seeing him sworn on :)

Its hard to understand why people do what they do-lots of money in it if you can figure it out!  LOL!

Mine had me go to both!

So proud of all of them-giving moms the best gift ever-to protect us everyday-we must have taught them something right!

I bet at Sarges we will get way more info on it!  See you in 4 days!

Can't wait!!! I'll write again when I know his flight plans.

Sounds good :)

I'm not sure how many Sarge can carry but we will fill it up !!!!  Maybe we should swap cell phone numbers so we can call or text to arrange rides once we get there.

Good idea!  B-ready from PIR 3/1 posted great info on the bootcamp group this morning about going to the airport!

I've been running around the house packing all the goodies I'm taking for my Sailor!  The dog gave up chasing me and just has been giving me looks :)

Spomss, I'm going to send you a friend request so I can send you my number. I think navymom is already a friend and will send it to her too.im going to text sarge and find out how many he can carry.
