Hi everyone!

First, I am so thankful and glad there is a site like this!! My son, our oldest, left for biot camp on February 27th. The first few days were awful. I was constantly was in the verge of tears... Just missing my son. However, I could not be more proud if his choice to join the Navy, and to be a Navy Mom!!

This site has helped to ease some if the anxiety by preparing me for what to expect over the next weeks. We are currently waiting for "the box" and the first letter!!!

Thanks everyone in advance for any support!!

My son left Feb 26....While its been sad...I am so proud of him! I got the box yesterday...it was comforting to see his stuff. Can't wait for the letter!

My son left on Feb 28th.... can definitely understand how you feel.  But, like you, I am extremely proud.  This site has been a God-send for me.  It helps connecting with other moms and to know that you are not alone.  I have not received "the box" yet but expect it anytime.  It will be bitter-sweet.  Thank God that I can always come here and share my feelings.  Welcome to the site Jodi.... Hope you have a good day....

Be sure to check out the page, OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes To Your Profile); there may be some changes that you will want to make and then be sure to check out the other pages a few at a time as well. You may also want to join the group, DEP-Leavin' for Boot Camp in February, to connect with others with loved ones who left the same day and may have PIR together. You will soon be receiving your form letter, so once you know the date, join the group for that as well--either PIR 04/26/2013 TG 24 or PIR 04/19/2013 TG 23 7 Divisions (151-156, 923).

Hello Everyone!

My only son, our youngest,  left home Feb 25th but arrived Feb 28th, due to the storm.  I too miss my son something awful.  I can also understand what you all are feeling.   Yes it is sad but I am very proud of him and can't wait to see him at his PIR.   I received his "box" today! I was sad and happy at the same time.  I got teary when I could smell his cologne on his clothes, but it was comforting to receive all of his personal items. I too can't wait to receive the letter!   I am also very thankful for this site, it has really helped me through my first week experiencing being a new Navy Mom!!

Thank you!

My son just left tonight. I'm OK right now but I'm not expecting it to last long. He's pretty close to being my BF. Always making us laugh etc. I'm so extremely proud of him for making this decision. I'm praying that they all do well and help eachother thru boot camp.

Join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in March, to connect with others with loved ones who left today and may have PIR together.

You may want to join, or at least check out, PIR Reference Information and New Members Stop Here. Once you know your SR’s PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that once it has been created. There will be a lot of great information and support for you in those groups. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions within the groups, especially this group. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC  will let you know what is happening, but you will also want to check out the other Pages in all of the groups.

My son left on February 27th as well. Received the letter with graduation information yesterday.
I just realized our sons are together. My son is Ship 14 Div 162 as well.

Join the group, PIR 04/26/2013 TG 24 (clickable link), to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR.  Know that Divisions 161 and 162 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 together, so look for others with loved ones in either division.  There will later be a discussion within that group for the two divisions.

Angela! So glad to meet another Mom in the same division!! I am keeping my fingers crossed for a phone call in the next week or two! I saw that there were some over the weekend from a different division.
