My son I'd headed out on March 13th. I'm nervous and excited. But mostly I want to enjoy every last moment with him. We are taking a family vacation over Christmas and are visiting lots of family. Any ideas of other things to do? All the posts on this site are so helpful.

Hello, my youngest son is scheduled to arrive at bc on March 13 2013. My oldest went last April. I'm trying to be ready for this again.

My only son is heading to BC March 13th as well.  We are hosting a dinner with family and some friends the Saturday before he leaves.  My husband is taking him to Dave and Busters (they used to do that all the time during school breaks).  We went to Monster Jam (that was our thing).  We too am trying to be with him as much as possible. This site is already proving invaluable as I feel I know more than my son. :)   I have also been serving everyday meals on our China regularly.

Hi, so glad I found this group.  My son leaves March 12, 2013.  He is my oldest.

My oldest son also leaves on the 13th.  Actually, I believe he is sworn in and leaves from St. Louis on the 12th.  We have tried to fit in as many activities as possible before he leaves.  We're excited, but nervous, too.

My son is leaving on March 13th also.  Seems like the time is just flying by.

My son leaves on march 13 also, I can't believe it's less that 2 weeks away.

My son is leaving March 25th He is my youngest of 4 and only son as well. Some days I don't know what to feel excited nervous , I am always mildly distracted by this venture. Nice to know others are going through the same feelings.

Thanks

My son Blaine leaves for BC March 13th. We had an Anchor's Away Party for him this past Sat. Great turn out with lots of family and friends. We are so proud of him. Can't wait for him to start this new chapter of his life. Thanks Navy for Moms for all the info on this site.
My son leaves on the 13th also. We had his party on sat. Can't believe it's only a week now. We had everyone fill out cards at the party and put there return address on them. I will mail them to him while he is at boot camp.

LOVE THIS IDEA... Thanks!

Mail them a few at a time so that he has mail most days and not a lot on one day.

I guess I found the right place to be...my oldest son is leaving 3/12.  He will be a Nuke and head to Charleston after PIR.  Anyone else???
