Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hello--my son Josh leaves for BC on April 18th, 2013. His rate (job) is Gunners Mate (GM) and he'll be completing "A" school at Great Lakes as well. We are from Central Ohio. He is super excited and looking forward to the experience.
I would love to chat with other families that may have sons/daughters attending BC during the same time period.

My son flies out of Spokane on April 10. I don't know if I should drive to Spokane the night before to see him sworn in and to go to the airport for one last hug . . . or if I should just say my farewells from home. Any advice?

Hi GR8RABsMom, My daughter flies out April 10th also. She will be flying out of Syracuse NY. We live 3 hours away in PA so I will be driving to Syracuse, staying at the hotel where they put the kids up for the night. Then in the morning I'll meet her at MEPS to see her swear in and take a picture or 2, give her a great big hug and let her know that she will rock it in boot camp.
Is your son getting excited? Nervous? and you? My daughter can't wait! "17" Days to go!

Hi GR8RABsMom my daughter flies out of Spokane next Monday, April 8. We are lucky enough that we live in the area so we will be driving to MEPS Monday morning to see her sworn in and then see her off at the Airport. Let's keep in touch!
