Hey everyone! So my husband has been in boot camp since Wed. (27th) and I know its early to ask but I just would like any tips, info, anything on how the graduation goes. Such as the time it starts, Hotels near the area, when do they find out and tell us? Or if theres a website that gives general info. Anything anyone could share with me would be great! Thanks in advance! :)

you should get a form letter I about 3 weeks with his address your DEERS forms for your id insurance info and his PIR info. mine was late b/c my husband was on phold for a week.  as soon as you find out, book it at navy lodge. that way you are close to the base. we got there around 7 am... wayyy early lol. the night before we drove around the base to figure out where to go in. also I really suggest you go to sarges meet and greet. he gave us so much info. and he told us the back way to get in so there were no lines it was AMAZING.  and do you know where your husband is going to A school??

Thanks for that info! I live about 2hrs away from great lakes and with 2 kids 5 & 18mo, i fig it would be best to get a hotel! What is the sarges meeting? Also do you know if there's a certain amount of people who can attend there graduation?

My husband got in as a PACT Seaman right now so his schooling for that is only 3wks and is there at Great Lakes.

do you have fb ? I can send you the link to sarge for FB. he is a navy vet that helps navy families for PIR he owns his own taxi service and he does a meet and greet where everyone for PIR on Friday go and he gives you a free dinner and he gives you all the info you will need to know about PIR. He is super nice. I believe since your husband will be going to great lakes, they go right after PIR to set up their A school but then they get all weekend with their families... not a 100% sure on that, but that's what I heard :) Im sure the number of people he can have is 4 but that wont include your kids because they are so you .....lol if I lived that close id probably be driving by the base trying to sneak a peak of my husband haahah .

sorry just getting back to you yes i have a fb i can message you my name on here and you can send me the link if that works. thanks!

They get the weekend during the day, but they have a curfew each evening and must return to the base.

is that for when they are in "A" school Anti M? even if it is only 3wks long?

That is for PIR graduation, and for phase one and two of liberty while in A school.
