GROUPS: Listed by Name of US Naval Ships (actual US Naval vessels in service)
Looking for other Navy For Moms members with sailors on the same ship/boat?
Here is a list in alphabetical order by name of ship. List doe NOT include groups with fewer than 3 members and/or groups which have been inactive in the last 8 months. Cllckable links have been provided. Just click on the name of the ship. Please post a comment if I missed your sailor's ship (with a link, if possible). Please note that if your son/daughter is in boot camp, his/her barracks are named after ships. The groups listed below are not Navy For Moms groups designated for barracks (please see groups associated with PIR dates). Edited & updated Feb 2017 by BunkerQB.
This list refers to the REAL thing - with sailors, guns, etc.

Checked the information on the ships as they are listed with the Naval Vessel Register. You'll find it quite interesting.

Just a few groups added within the last 6 months. Feel free to start a group. Please post the link here and we'll be sure to add the name and link to our list of ships.
The official name for the boat is USS John McCain. The group has been listed. All boats named after a person is filed under first name (John Stennis, Dwight D. Eisenhower, George Washington, etc.). I also look up the boat's classification symbol and number and add those as well.
USS John S. McCain DDG 56 This links to the this group.
For those concerned that I have been sleeping on the job. I have been very sick for 6 weeks. Hopefully, I'll be back to normal soon.
I saw that this afternoon. I didn't mean to post it here. I gave a mom that group name (after clicking on your link above and getting the group name for her) and I must have accidentally posted here as well--or maybe instead--I need to check that I gave her the group name. I was a little distracted this afternoon.
I hope you are fully recovered soon.
The link above to the USS Shiloh (USS Shiloh CG 67) is not the link to a group, but is a link to a Discussion. There is not currently a group for that vessel.
Just curious, are you using a script to locate new groups ?
Thanks for adding the USS Henry M. Jackson. I was just going to request you add it, and it was already here.
Thanks again, HMJ
No. I click GROUPS, then latest to see what groups have been formed recently. Back in Dec 2010/Jan 2011, I went thru all the groups to compile the list of groups associated with REAL SHIPS. Please let other know about your group and you can really help by posting comments, replying to others when they post in your group -- in general do what you can to keep the group active ... thank you for jumping in.
I am looking for anyone whose recruit is on the USS Arizona, Div 176, Ship 14 and in the BC at Great Lakes, IL right now with the Pass and Review date, May 03, 2013. Please answer if you get this.
Thank you Lady Hamilton and take care!!!!
Marika, your recruit is housed in a barrack named after the USS Arizona.
You should click on this link PIR: 5/03/2013 TG 25 - 11 Divisions (167-176 & 925) which will lead you to a group associated with those whose recruits have PIR on May 3, 2013. You should also check out our Survival Guide.
The list we have in this discussion is associated with the REAL ships (with guns, sailors, planes) out on the Fleet or in dry dock. Don't worry if you are confused. You'll get - it just takes a little time. Good luck to you recruit.
The vessels listed above have a group within the site. There is not currently a group for the USS Ingraham. If you would like to start one and then post the link here, that would be great. There have been others with loved ones on that ship within Frigate Moms (clickable link), you could join that group and start or join a discussion there for that ship.
