I wasn't expecting any call from my daughter until at least week 3. So imagine my surprise when she called today after only 11 days there. Of course she misses home and says she is so very stressed and tired. Says they go to sleep at midnight and wake at 0400. Ship 14 div 198 takes there first physical Monday. RDC said they all earned a phone call home so I hope those of you in the same group received a surprise phone call too. She also said RDC says they can call again in one week.

That is great that you received the call. Join the group, PIR 05/24/2013 TG 28, to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR. Know that Divisions 197 and 198 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 together, so look for others with loved ones in either division. There will later be a discussion within that group for the two divisions.
You may also want to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones), PIR Reference Information, and New Members Stop Here. There will be a lot of great information and support for you in those groups as well as in the PIR group. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions within the groups. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening, but you will also want to check out the other Pages in all of the groups.

I see you've joined PIR 05/24/2013 TG 28; I'd also like to invte you to join the other groups mentioned above, especially Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I'm sorry you missed the call, but at least youhave the voice mail to play. Phone Cards and Phone Calls will tell you more about phone calls, including some times that you can relacx and know that you won't be getting a call then.
You are very welcome.
My son left today, I recieved the ten-second phone call, apparently scripted. He said he would call again in 3 weeks, we were told at MEPS this morning that he could possibly be calling every week. I hope that's at least partially true because 3 weeks seems terribly long.
Phone calls come when te RDC's schedule them, which is based on when the phone banks are open. Phone Cards and Phone Calls within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will tell you more about that.
Join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in April, to connect with others with loved ones who left today and may have PIR together. Once you know your SR’s PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that once it has been created. There will be a lot of great information and support for you in those groups. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions within the groups. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening, but you will also want to check out the other Pages in all of the groups.
