Hi all! My son called Thursday night at 11:15pm (Chicago time) to let us know he arrived. Just curious - do they do P days on the weekends? If not, then how do the spend their weekends? Just wondering what my boy might be up to today! I can't wait till he's thru the P days. I've heard too many stories of stuff being discovered that causes a recruit to be released. We can't have that happen - my son really needs this! Thanks!

No they do not on weekends. I am sure they are doing something today...but they are not "official" P or training days :-) Saturday and Sundays are "hold" days.
See this PAGE here on BC Moms for info on what happens after arrival to BC:

Check out the N4M forum. this is an outline, you cant have all 600 or so do swim test on the same day!
There are 55-100 recruits in a division, with the average being 88, and brother divisions train together. All of the divisions within a TG are not on the same DOT.
Things can be discovered at any time they are in bootcamp and they can be sent home...They are safe after battle stations, and you get the I am a Sailor call..
Weekends duiring Hold days are spent practicing the things they have learned up to that point. During P-Hold that is folding, rack making, ironing... as well as marking their things.
