Need Some Advice and Help - Son shipped out on 4/23/13

My son left for Great Lakes on 4/23/13, the catch?  He left angry with me..........I am hoping that someone else's son has the same ship out date so I can keep informed here on N4M.  Any help will be appreciated from you.  I know I need to wait for my son to reach out to me when he grows up a bit but still want to be part of what he is doing here.

Hey he does not need to know:)

Join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in April, to connect with others with loved ones who left that day and may have PIR together.

You may want to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones), PIR Reference Information, and New Members Stop Here. Once you know your SR’s PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that once it has been created. There will be a lot of great information and support for you in those groups. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions within the groups. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening, but you will also want to check out the other Pages in all of the groups.

You can write encouraging letters to him and/or encourage others to write to him even if he is mad at you. You can't send them until you or someone else gets the form letter.

Alex's Mom my son left for Great Lakes on 4/23/13 also but due to weather and plane problems did not reach Great Lakes until 4/24. I did get the Im here call at 10 pm on 4/24/13.  I will be happy to share with you whatever I hear.  Have you started writing.  I am writing a short letter every day.  I will hold them until I get the form letter with address and then will mail them.  Im also going to enclose a book of stamps in my first letter so he will have stamps to write back.

Hello Alex's Mom, I'm so sorry and I truly hope things will get better soon. My son left to BC on 04/23. I got the " I made it" call around midnight. He sounded very tired. I would be more than happy to share all info with you.

Please remove your reply (click on the little x) since you gave your SR's full name. Read the Community Guidelines and OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes To Your Profile) within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) for more on that and other things you need to be aware of. I invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) while you are there and check out the other Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) as well.

Please remove your reply (click on the little x) since you gave your SR's full name again. See the info I posted for you above before you deleted the last reply.

If you choose to share full names, do so in a PM after you friend each other.

OK, it is deleted.  Thank you for sending the links, I will read through them.

:o) It is a very good idea to read OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes To Your Profile). You need to seriously consider making change 2 at the bttom.

Hello Alex's mom... My son also shipped out on the 23rd, I got the I made it call at 1:45 a.m my time. Waiting for the BOX and the formal letter to know what ship and division he is in. I hope things get better once you can write to each other!

Let me know what ship and division your son is in, I know I will not get that letter.....sigh.

Ingrid

Hi Alex's mom....I received the form letter yeserday in the mail.  My SR is on Ship 03 Div 233.  I pray that you receive one soon from your SR,  and if you do please let me know what ship and division he is in.  :)

I will as soon as I get my packet from him. That would be really cool if they are on the same ship/division together! I pray that he sends that letter home to you!
