when he leaves, there will be limited amount of communication. I think  I got 5 calls total while my husband was there. and that all depends on his RDC's. I know some people get married when they call liberty after PIR also there is A school which he should have time to run away on the weekend and get married :P what is his job going to b in the navy?

They sign a page 13 saying they will obey all liberty regulations.  That includes NOT getting married PIR weekend.  The county in IL where the base is doesn't let you get married the same day you apply for a license anyway.

If you two plan on marrying while he's in A school, that's fine, but he is obligated to submit the special request chit to his COC.  While it is technically asking permission, it is never denied unless one of the two parties is underage and need parental permission, if one is not a US citizen, or if it appears to be a fraudulent marriage.   He may be required to take a class or counseling, but usually that's a good thing as it fills him in one benefits for the dependents and how to get them.

Once he's in the fleet, getting married without permission is how it is done.   Training commands vary a lot, but Great Lakes has gotten quite strict.

Hey! Hope you are well? My husband is at his first command, but finished bootcamp this year January 18th. At the time we were engaged and felt that way too when will time allow and what comes next. Boot camp flies by, I remember it just creeping up but next thing I know I am watching him graduate! Proud moment :) Keep yourself busy. I found myself working more hours, staying at the gym and writing letters every chance I had. We are best friends; therefore, in that aspect was hard. After he graduated he headed to A school where we then began to plan our wedding. It was small but amazing. We had it at home due to he had already received his orders so it would not have made a difference if we got married at his A school or home. I found us a place to live at our duty station and we headed here shortly after! Ever since just been taking it day by day with the Navy! Embrace and enjoy every moment. Hope i have been helpful! Best wishes :)
