Well, I've gone from a DEP to a BCMom, he left today and I received the phone call around 9:10.  I've been in his room and placed a blue candle in the window(like those plastic christmas candles).  This made me feel good.   Will start marking down the days tomorrow.  From what everyone says he is in bed right now but will be up at 12:00.  I know I am one of thousands of moms but it's my one.  I am very proud of his decision but already miss him.  Is there anyone else on here with a son that left for RTC today?

Plan on that. I hope that the RTC posts something to let people know when the Sailors flying out will leave the RTC.

My daughter arrived on May 7th so I am wondering if she may be the same date.  Does this mean that we may get to spend July 4th with her too if so??  That would be wonderful.  She is headed to Pensacola, FL for A school.

It could happen that they fly out Friday rather than on the 4th. You'll just have to wait and see.

The RTC posted this:

Ladies, recruits will still depart RTC the day after their PIR, July 4, in the vast majority of cases. The only exceptions may be when tickets are unavailable. Your recruit will receive his or her ticket and orders the week of graduation.

No JoshuamomNV, no letter yet.  Hoping for tomorrow..... crossing fingers and toes :-)

Thank you :-)

Divisions 249 and 250 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 together, so look for others with loved ones in either division.  There will later be a discussion within PIR 07/03/2013 TG 34 for the two divisions.

If you have received the form letter with 07/03/2013 as the PIR date, join the group PIR 07/03/2013 TG 34 (clickable link) to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR.

My son left on May 8th.  I was away today and I had a fed ex sticker on my door, so his box will be here tomorrow hopefully.  Will we get his PIR date with the box or will it be with a separate letter?  It has been a week since I said goodbye to him.  I have to keep thinking no news is good news everyday and I am relieved every night when it reaches 10 oclock and I think he is surely in his bed asleep for the night and made it through another day.

The form letter will arrive separately and will arrive in the regular mail. See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC.

Received my letter 2 days ago his PIR is June 28

That PIR group is PIR 06/28/2013 TG 33 - 12 Divisions (237-246, 814 and 933). Your SR is in a Push Division, so you will receive the "I'm a Sailor!" call only a day or so before PIR.
