Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 239 and 240
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Hello.
They do not have a M & G for the Sailors the night before PIR. The first time you will see your Sailors is at PIR.
The M & G ( there are two that we know of) are done the night before for the Friends and Family of Sailors to finally meet each other.
There is a Meet and Greet DISCUSSION posted in your DSICUSSION FORUM here on your PIR GROUP. Just scroll down the list and you will see it. It is also a "featured" DISCUSSION and so will be at the top of the DF if you click "View All".
I will post the direct link here as well :-)
I too received my first letter today, got totally emo and cried to see his handwriting, which is ridiculous as my kid has never been a "talker" and when he was living close by with his sweetheart, if I wanted to know where he was, not just me but his friends would have to call her. Thank God, she is the amazing woman she is. But there was something about knowing he was a train ride away, and that she or her momma would alert me if I needed alerting. We are close and he has always been good to me, so we didn't have to talk about it much, it seemed redundant.
Ok, who cares about that, what I really want to share is he sounds good and happy, he tells me there are good people in their division and it is not as hard as he thought it would be. Which is key, they need to be in a good group, that team work will help them all along. I know how hard it can be to work in a team, but I feel like I am learning too. I always wanted to be so perfect at work, and not let my work be interfered with by people who mess things up, recently at work, someone messed up my computer royally, I smiled and said great, not at all insincere, as I am myself learning to sink into a team which is a wonderful feeling.
As a team we can get much done, we all make mistakes, but if we are committed to a single goal and avoiding ego trips we are much more effective.
So yeah I cried like a little b* when I got the letter but they were tears of happiness, my son has always had a gift for attracting wonderful people and it heartens me to see that I have reason to believe he is in good hands with his superiors and with other good hearts in his peers
Stay strong other moms, I know we miss those guys but they are working hard and our support will help them all. I am left with the feeling that all in all, the moms, the sweethearts, and especially the SRs of this group are going to make us proud.
:)
p.s.
I have to lol at my own response, 'make us proud' as if we weren't already. I don't know a better word for it at the moment. When my son was a baby he used to giggle so hard I would worry he would split his seams, that is how proud of him I am already, as gamers say, we are leveling up.
It's so nice to see everyone is getting letters! I can't wait to get a letter, should be any day...
I'll probably get mail Thursdays and Fridays since I live in California. Keeping my fingers crossed!
I'm in Cali too. My son's girlfriend got a letter on Wednesday.
It might be 45 days until PIR, but you only have six more Fridays to trudge through, and then it's a wake up call on the 7th when you see your SAILOR. :)
H A P P Y F R I D A Y!!!!!!!!!! 3 Fridays down and 6 to go.... We can do this!!!... Have a Wonderful Day!!!
Happy Friday to you too!! Yes, we can do this~ we just need to keep ourselves BUSY
