Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 243 and 244

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My son is Ship 03 Division 244 also! I am also still waiting on a letter. I pass by his room and look in there EVERYTIME..I miss him so much!

I am in the process of closing my daycare and am down to two girls and yesterday actually called for my son to come see something the little one was doing!

Shirleyann and Sailor's Mom, we're all in this together and experiencing the same angst.  I agree that I feel closer just writing my daily letter.  I ususally try to copy and paste a picture on the bottom of each letter of family, friends and pets (since they request no enclosures).  Shirleyann, this might be a nice place for a temper-tantrum photo OP!  LOL.  I find it strange that Sailor Mom's son is in Div 244 since I thought this might be the "sister" part of the intergrated unit and 243 was the "brother"...guess all the speculation isnt doing a bit of good for me.  I had a hard time with the send off to college too but for some reason this seems easier because she's a little more mature and had no reservations AT ALL with her decision.  All I can do is support and be one proud Momma!

Integrated divisions are just that both male and females in the same division, they do train together eat together etc,  no they don't shower and sleep together...LOL The brother division are in the same ship and at night the females from one side and the males from the other switch compartments for the night and morning activities. :) This is part of the reason (there are lots more) why there is no sitting on the racks during the day, not all in that division may have their rack in that compartment.

If I understand right--243 and 244 are brother divisions meaning both are made up of 1/2 male 1/2 female--they do everything together except showers and sleep when the divisions split into male and female divisions...we have several retired navy or ex-navy friends and they are all jealous--not an option when they were in! It's really helped having others in the situation to chat with too--thanks!

So you've recieved letters?  What was the ship date of your sailors?  Daughter left May 6th.  Just curious if she's sneaking around writing behind my back.  LOL.  I knew they didnt "compartment" together but didnt realize the 244 div was both male/female...Friend me so we can discuss names and when we write recruits we can see if our SR's know each other?

Cindyloohoo--I havn't received a letter from my SR yet--but the one he sent his girlfriend made it here because he forgot to put her apartment # on it and he had used our home address as the return address--caught him!  I wasn't surprised...my SR left May 2 I will friend request you as soon as I figure it out!

How much longer before I will hear from my son. Its been 16days ?? Just wanna say Hi to him.

Hi, my son is ship 03, div 244. We are from Ohio. He is 23 years old and joining the military has always been his dream. I am so very proud of him. I miss him terribly and wish I would receive a letter or a phone call. Anyone else in this ship and division receive letters or a phone call yet?

We got a phone call from him for additional information for background check.....other than that no--he did say that they were supposed to be able to call this weekend--he is in DIV 243 so it might be different....

My SR is 19 and has done one semester of college. He will be going to A school in Texas.
I am jealous of any phone calls or letters anyone has gotten. My son is not a writer and although I write to him, I don't expect a lot of letters in return. I pretty much cry anytime I see someone in uniform. My daughter's high school choral concert was a tribute to the Armed Forces. I cried the entire concert and just wailed when they sang Anchors Aweigh.
We live in Indianapolis so the drive to graduation isn't bad at all!
Thank you, mamas, for bringing up such awesome sons and daughters and for their service.
I did call his recruiter to complain about no letters. He said they are not allowed to write until the second Sunday they are in BC.
My son is 243 div.
