Two of my son's friends sent him those silly sound enhanced birthday cards at boot camp this week. His birthday is next Friday. I know that those are not allowed at boot camp. What do you suppose will happen? Will he be punished in some way? Help!

It all depends on the RDC and how well your SR is doing. See Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit.
Since those "sound enhanced" cards often require additional postage, it is doubtful that the cards will make it under the radar. Some RDC's rip out the voice box/battery. Others make the recruit do IT until the battery runs out. Some don't mind the cards. There have been other forms of special treatment for others. You'll just have to wait and see what your SR reveals to you about it.
My son did five 8-counts for every letter over 5 that he received at the first mail call. So did another SR because they each received 16 and 18 letters, respectively. His comment was "Bring it on!"
:o)
In case someone is wondering.
8-Count Body Builder: one of the exercises used during PT at the RTC and for IT. (See http://pecworkout.net/seal-fit-8-count-body-builder.php.)
Thanks, lemon! I tried doing one of those 8-counts. I am not in bad shape for a woman of my age (post-menopausl) but I could barely get one out!!
Yep, I think I almost managed 2 the last time I tried.
Well, from what I can tell from the letters I have received, my SR has been doing pretty well, so, I am hoping this won't be too big of a deal. He has lots of family and friends who know that it is his birthday and they all have his address at BC, so, I hope that he won't be penalized in any way for that. If he is, he can take it. He does 425 push-ups before shut-eye every night on his own.
I agree with the two of you. I can't do 425 in a year...Also, post menopausal.
