Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Ship 03 (USS Hopper) Divisions 243 and 244 (Brother Divisions)
Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 243 and 244
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hi--welcome to moms with kids in 243! My SR is 21 and did get a letter out to his girlfriend last Sunday, so hopefully he will find time for mom this weekend---when he called for infor for his security check he said he thought they might get to call this weekend.....

Just got my first phone call Ship 3 Div 243--he is sending a list of guys he is really tight with and that are going on to "A" school with--I asked him to let their moms know about navy for moms so we could chat with them also--he is also including a list of guys not getting letters so I can write them--he says they only get to mail out on Sundays and that he hadn't mailed any yet--apparently the letter to the girlfriend was mailed before he left! He says their Chief and petty officers are great and only kick their butt if they need it--the RDC's run with them and are awsome also--the rate he is going for is CTR--I knew I got it switched....he is asking for song lyrics as they are singing because they really miss their music...He says according to the SR helping him he passed the first PFT but they only told the recruits that 40 in the two divisions passed, not which 40--I told him to do better next time...He says the food is good and several of them have count down calendars, and he is praying several times a day, for himself, his girlfriend, his division and me...He sounded really good and it sounds like they are all helping each other get through......

My son is going to A school in Pensacola....maybe they are buddies already--if I haven't sent a friend request to you I will so we can exchange names so they can look each other up!

My son is going to A school in Texas. I hope he is making friends. If he called me, I would know, but alas, he did not call.

My son is ship 03, div 244 ... I was really hoping and praying for a letter or a call today. He has been gone since 5/2 and I am really missing him.

With him being in the other division on the ship they might have different call schedules--hang in there. His dad had decided he wasn't going to call so left the house and the call came about 15 minutes later--so I got it all! Around 12:15 central time.... I did take notes to share...I didn't cry--I was so happy my whole face was radiating and it almost cracked from my smile! It sounds like they are all pulling together to make it--already showing great teamwork sounds like!!

I missed the call from my SR today (Ship 3, Div 244) because she called the house instead of my cell! I'm out of town at my husband's bowling tournament. She ended up calling her mom and they talked for about 30 minutes. She said she had to walk approx 2 miles carrying a 30 lb pack to make the call. She says she's having fun; likes the food, which is a real shock; passed her swim test, but not the other PT; is making friends, but I don't know any names; hasn't been given a form letter to fill out yet; will go directly to A-School in Pensacola after BC. I can't remember what else. She wants all of us to send mail, so I'm going to email her address to her aunts, uncles, great grandmother, cousins, and friends right now. I hope many of you get your calls soon. BTW, have any of you looked into who the USS Hopper is named after? If you haven't, take a few minutes. The ship is only the second one named after a woman...Rear Admiral Grace ("Amazing Grace") Murray Hopper. Fascinating woman!

So I feel like I am the only parent who didn't get a call yesterday. Someone please explain to me why/how they get to call before I start to do the internal doubting my mothering/ what did I do wrong - thing.

I didn't get a call either. This is making me crazy because it seems so many in 03/244 are getting calls. I have not even received a letter. This is killing me because I miss him so much!

My SR called yesterday as well and I missed the call. Heartbroken. She left a short message on the answering machine and she was able to reach her Father. He said she sounded well and happy. She is having some boot issues and they allowed her to wear sneakers for the next 3 days until they can reissue the correct size so I'm a little concerned about that. She said next week is "Hell Week" which I think means extra inspections and work duty. Not sure. Any other mom's hear that from their SR's?
