Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 245 and 246

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hi all, my SR is in ship 9 div 245. I got a phone call yesterday!! I have been checking my phone every 5 minutes, afraid I would miss the call.  I was so excited to hear his voice, still have not received my form letter yet. He told me he was doing fine, the food was "okay". I could tell that he was homesick but looking forward to the challenges ahead.  Thank you all and have a great weekend.

My son called Saturday as well. It was 22 minutes of awesomeness! He said he has met three others in his division who are going to be at nuke school with him that also live in north texas. He said they are already planning to carpool home. I was wondering if those three guys are any of yalls loved ones?

Graduation June 28. We will be there. My son Justin called and said very difficult. Alot of "folding, marching, repetitive"...cant wait to see our new Saiolrs!

Has anyone started getting regular mail yet? My husband asked for stamps in the phone call on Saturday. I sent them out yesterday, so now I'm kind of assuming I won't get any letters til he gets those stamps. Just wondering if anyone was starting to get anything. And our phone call ended with yelling too! I managed not to cry afterward but I had started crying because I missed the call the first time, luckily he called back.
Did anyone else just get a phone call? My husband just called me saying his division (245) just earned a 10 minute phone call!!!!! :) it only really lasted about 4 mins before they cut him off but that's fine with me! :) and he said he should be able to talk for longer on Sunday between noon and 4. Don't know if it'll happen but that's pretty awesome! I got my military spouse ID today. It wasn't too bad of a process. I can't wait til Sunday but even more to see him! Hope everyone's doing well!

And thanks IzumiBrisingr- I got the chance to ask and he said the same thing your fiancé said about Sundays. Can't wait to get my first letter!
We didn't get a phone call tonight either. As far as the calling card goes we were told you would have to call collect without one. My son took two but said he gave one to someone who didn't have one so maybe someone, possibly even my son, shared with your SR!

IzumiBrisingr, Your SR cannot make a call without a calling card. It is possible that another recruit shared his card with your SR if he didn't have one, or he may have purchased one at the NEX. You can send one to your recruit, and I would recommend getting on that has at least 200 minutes.

J's wife no phone calls here :( Div 245 also. So happy for you though. Guessing that means they did something good! ---
I sent my SR calling cards from callforrecruits.org which I learned about on this website. They are free and you get 8 that are good for 20 min each one time use. I told my son to keep a couple for himself and give the away the others. You can make a donation on the callforrecruits website.

1proudmom.ship09div245- My husband said they got a flag? I'm not exactly sure what it means. It kind of broke up when he was trying to tell me. I heard something about his division having 86 people in it... something they did good. That was all I got. lol maybe something happened so that they couldn't all finish their call. Like I said, our phone call was cut shorter than he was originally told. I'll let you know if I hear from him again. But keep your phones on you this weekend, ladies! :)

I just got a bunch of letters in the mail. :D

I received two letters yesterday. :-)   I
