For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Ballston Spa Graduation
Can anyone tell me about the graduation at Ballston Spa? Time of Day? duration? Indoor, Outdoor ( July 12)? Where do you suggest a moderatly priced place to stay? Any information is appreciated

This is the one graduation that we did not go to. It is over quick because they want to get out fast and on the road on leave. Unless you really want to see Ballston Spa--and there is nothing there--I have been there since we live relatively close. Saratogo Springs is a resort area so you are going to get expensive there. Beyond that, there is nothing else.

We live about 3 1/2 hours from Ballston Spa and I have been there twice. You are right about not much there, except my Sailor. So my husband and I are going. His girlfriend and her parents are also going. It is a celebration!!!
I was curious about the timing and hoopla.

My son graduated from Ballston Spa in February, it was a relatively small ceremony and rather informal. It was at a ???Knights of Columbus Hall. It was really nice, they encourage family members to come forward and take pictures. As they announced each sailor they said where they were being stationed. The CO had a nice personal comment for each of the sailors as they got their certificate. The graduation was in the morning and lasted less than an hour. As far a hotels, if it is race season at Saratoga there will be few reasonably priced hotels. They pretty much double the rates for race season. We went to visit our son during race season and couldn't find a hotel closer than Albany, so we ended up staying at his place. Best Wishes to your sailor, it is quite an acomplishment to make it through Nuke School! (If you go to my page you will see a few pictures from the graduation.)
