Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 243 and 244
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Hi--my son is in division 243--so with a brother division does this mean these are integrated divisions? My son is 21--he has gone to college for three years--any other SR's out there about the same age?
My son is 24 and did 2years of college and going to Pensacola for A school. If that hasn't changed. We are from the Cinti area.
Yeah! Another guy! My son is 21.5 and had done three years of college--felt he was spinning his wheels--I'll send a friend request so we can talk more....we're from southwest missouri
My son is 23 and did two years of college also. It was not for him. He is heading to Texas for A school.
My daughter is in div 243; she is 20 and will also be going to Pensacola for A school...do we have any idea when they will leave after GL? We aren't getting any information and she doesn't seem to know...
Hi Bug's Mom--from the reading I have been doing at this site and the navy for dad's site she might fly out Saturday after graduation for "A" school. My son is in the same division and is also going to Pensacola--he still hasn't been told definately but that is what he was told would probably happen by his recruiter also
My daughter told me in her last letter that she will most like leave on the Saturday after grad for A school...kind of disappointed, but glad she will keep her "military mindset"....at least we will be able to see her for a little while!!!
My SR is leaving then also--in his last letter he told me to only count on 4 hours for liberty after graduation--and one of the petty officers is suggesting they hang out at USO--also the Facebook page for RTC posted several new pictures today--don't think our division though
My daughter is Div 244, so yes, they are integrated divisions. My daughter will be 21 in September and has also been in college since high school so they'll probably have a lot in common :) I was really surprised they bumped their PIR date up a week and hope they can achieve all the requirements needed! Where will your son be going to A school? My SR will be in Pensacola which is wonderful since I live in Florida! So excited for our recruits!!
Hi Cindyloohoo--love your name! My SR actually turned 21 last October--he felt like he was wasting his time in college---he will be in Pensecola for 28 weeks for "A" school at least that was what we were told initially--love Florida for vacations--his girfriend is near Lexington, KY so not too far...he called today for background info and sounded tired--he has received two of the letters I've sent but asked for more which are on the way..glad to see someone else on his ship and if there is one the same age there are more--I was worried everyone might be a lot younger--I'm really excited for them also--so many possibilities...
Hi...I found out today from my SR's recruiter that she is in Div 244. He gave me a complete address, but I've seen elsewhere that I shouldn't write until I get the form letter from my SR. So far, no form letter has arrived. She got to GL on 5/6. I have letters ready to send, but am hesitant to use the address the recruiter provided. My SR will also be in Pensacola for A-school. We live in Florida, too. How did you get the address to write to your SR?
Hi-- I would go ahead and send the letters--my son got his and they only had his name ship 3 Div 243 Great Lakes IL and the zip--I got my form letter last Saturday so yours should be in soon...My son is going to A school in Pensacola also--my son arrived there on 5/2. I wonder if there is more than one "A" school at Pensacola--several are going there--I'm from MO but another mom with a daughter in 244 is from Florida--welcome aboard!!!
