Hey everyone! Wow! Time has flown! Tomorrow we are hosting an " Anchors Aweigh" party for Dennis. Today was his last day of work, and he leaves in 17 days on June 3! It just got moved up from the 5th of June this past Tuesday. Everyone keeps asking how I am doing, and I am ok right now. But I have a feeling June 3rd and some days after will be rough. I am so excited for him, and he is raring to go! I was out of town when he went in for his 30 days out meeting, that came as a shock. And that wasn't that long ago!

My family in CT is looking forward to having him there for Sub School. My brother works on base in heating and a/c for his company that contracts there, and he brought me a map of base to give Dennis (my out of town was back in CT for a family event). My nephew, his cousin, lives right up the road from the back gate, plus I have a sister that lives nearby. So exciting!

Peace to all!

Have a great party tomorrow!  The time is going quickly.  Our son leaves on June 19th and will be going to the sub school too!  I am glad you know people near the base - that makes everything seem a little less obscure!

Cheers,

Jamie

My son's date is still the 5th.  We are from Texas and will be having his going away party on the 31st.  It is coming up sooo fast, now.

My son Jack is leaving on the 5th also.  We are from California.  His going away party is on the 1st.  I am very anxious - my first to leave the nest.  He is signed up for electronics and sub school.  He is not happy with all the attention, or my hovering.  He is so ready to leave!

Susan

Hi Susan. Where in CA? We are in Laguna Niguel. Perhaps Jack & Dennis will meet up in basic. Dennis is also our first one to leave the nest, more or less. He is so excited. And I am trying not to hover, but I keep staring at him and hugging him, and he is accepting of that.

Annette

We need to have Dennis at recruiting station at 1345 on Sunday. His room is nearly empty. Sigh. We will drive down to San Diego Monday morning for the swearing in and saying final farewells.

How did 17 days become 3 so quickly?
