My Boyfriend flew out on May 13 to Chicago for RT, so it's been roughly two weeks since he's been gone :( I still have yet to receive a letter from him and was wondering if anyone knew when they are allowed to send letters. I already have four letter ready to send out but don't have his current address at the time. I've watch so many videos and read sooooo many forums so I thought I would just make a profile to get my answers. Thankx in advance !

They only get to write letters on Sundays. I didn't receive my first letter til the 3rd week :( it's hard but hang in there !
He should've sent out the letter with his PIR date and adress though. Check with his parents maybe they got it ?
Thank you and it is hard guess it takes some getting use to. The only thing is his family is in New York and we are from Norfolk,VA so I might just have to hope for a letter soon :)

i have heard that the letter usually comes after the first week (the form letter). My fiance has been gone for a week now. I am hoping to get a letter soon. Like you, I have about 4/5 letters ready to send. I hope you get your letter soon. Message me if you'd like.

Thank you and I'm so excited I recieved my letters today! I was so over whelmed. Have you recieved yours yet?

Nope. I know how you felt. I haven't received it yet and it's been almost two weeks since he left. His parents got his box, I am hoping that I will be the one to get the letter. (fingers crossed and praying) The sad thing is that I am going to be moving back near my family in another state in less than two weeks, so I need to get him an update in time...Ugh.. I'm stressed.

My husband is there now. They are able to write most nights (at least his division is) but can only send them out on Sundays. He has been able to receive my mail on a daily basis, though. I just got my first group of letters from him last week and he's been there since May 6th. So be patient. Once you get your first letter it will be a lot more obvious that you both have been thinking about each other and there is just that overlap in communication because of the snail mail. Keep writing him letters. My husband said when he finally started receiving my mail (which wasn't until about a week ago also because they train a recruit to do the mail) that he had the most mail in his division by far, which made him feel good. Just keep sending them and they'll catch up to him. And try not to get yourself too wrapped up in the sites. They are very helpful, especially this one, when you have questions. But sometimes I notice myself getting a little more down on the days I've had my nose in the military sites all day. It makes me think too much about the situation and not as much about just him. Keep your chin up. Communication will start soon!

you can friend me on here if you'd like

J's wife> when does your husband graduate? My fiance got to basic on May 7th, and what division is he in?

Rikki- ship9 div245 :) PIR is 6/28

ahh ok yea mine is ship 13 div250 and PIR is 7/3

i was honestly thinking that his PIR would've been 7/3 but i guess he was put into a division that was almost full and waiting for a few more people.

Yes your so right I have been constantly on the sites looking for info and I must admit it makes me even more down. My main confusion is my boyfriend arrived to RT may 13th he's on ship 09 DIV 256 and I'm seeing his pir date may be 7/3 ? I'm surprised because that's earlier than I expected! Is that possible ?

Yes it is! Some divisions end up having to wait til more SR's get there to fill up and then begin. My husband got there May 6th and his PIR is 6/28, I thought it would'be been 7/3. So no worries. Just means we get to see them sooner than expected!!!!!!!! :D
