Any one traveling from NC for this graduation?

Tuesday and Wednesday are travel days for this graduation. Still on the fence on

whether to fly or drive

Keep watching and asking at the PIR group's page. One mom about 20 miles from me was at the same PIR as my son's but she did not join the N4M page until about 3 weeks before graduation. I found out she was so close only days before going to North Chicago. What was more...our sons were in the same division and slept about 3 racks apart from each other. I hope you find a mom close to you.

I see you are from Waynesville, you might also try asking about eastern TN and north western SC. I don't know why but it seems once you get past Asheville there are not nearly so many Navy moms, or maybe just worse internet connections due to the mountains so they don't bother?? I have seen a couple before from Andrews, Murphy, Asheville, but it is more rare.

I would also advise flying if you can swing the tickets then get a rental. You will not be nearly so tired when you are there and your sailor may want to go some places like the Navy Pier, the Sears Tower, etc. Six Flags is not the best bet as he/she will have to be in uniform while out places. Your sailor will be pumped from seeing you and getting through Battlestations 21, you will want to be able to keep up. (Mine graduated in January...he wanted to chill in the motel room and have a 20 minute hot shower, then answer close to 1000 emails, make phone calls, and download music to his new iPod).

Raleigh, NC here!

We are flying... just don't want to be exhausted when we get there... where are you in NC?

I am in Waynesville and I am flying too. Just too far to drive and do some sightseeing too. Haven't made hotel res yet. How about you
