For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

The countdown is on! When Seth enlisted last summer, June seemed like forever away. After all, he still had his senior year, last basketball season, graduation, etc. to get past. Now all of the sudden, we're just over 3 months from his ship date! I thought this would be a piece of cake. After all, I've been a Navy daughter, niece, cousin, sister, sister-in-law and aunt, so I'm very familiar and comfortable with the Navy lifestyle. Well I'm here to say that being a Navy mom is different. I'm so very proud of the decision he has made, but not dealing well at all with him leaving. Until he enlisted, basketball was his life. He would start looking foward to next season the day after his last game of the season every year. We watched him walk off the court for the last time last week and it nearly killed me!! Now he is completely focused on studying his general orders and getting ready to go. He's ready to leave yesterday! He's even helping me with the plans for his graduation/going away party, which is not like him at all. The next 3 months are going to fly by I'm sure. Ready or not, here we go!!

Hi Tracy. My son also leaves for BC on June 11. We just celebrated his 20th birthday. He was ready to sign after he graduated two years ago but decided to do college for one year. Like you, June seemed so far away. Now, I'm looking at everything going on between now and then, realizing time is going to fly by. I am looking forward to seeing my son live his dream of being a sailor but will miss him dearly.

Tracy..this is sooo funny! My son SETH is leaving on June 11 too! Is your son part of the White Sox division? Mine is taking his oath at the White Sox game that night along with the rest of his division. Would be cool to know another mom whose son is doing the same thing :)

No, we're in the St. Louis MEPS area. They do have Cardinal Company at some point during the season where they line the bases at Busch Stadium to be sworn in and we were hoping he would get to do it (huge cards fan), but no home games next week :( Anyway, getting so close and I am an emotional nightmare for my family right now lol.

How are things going for you now? Picking up speed I know. The START booklet is always laying around somewhere in our home! He learned/or is learning all the stuff, has the sentry orders down pat, etc. His date was June 5th, but got moved up to the 3rd just Tuesday. His party is tomorrow, I hope lots of his friends make it. Some of his teachers will be there, all the way back to elementary school! I am so excited for him, and yes, he was ready to go months ago! At 21, he might be the 'old man" there!

It's been so long since I've had a change to get on the site so I didn't see this until just now, sorry about that. Well, I bet you're a nervous wreck right about right about now, huh.
It's party week for us. Seems like I've been planning for forever. Final head count is 157. I don't know what I was thinking when I decided to cook the meal instead of have it catered. My dining room table is full of cute little centerpieces and balloon weights I made for the tables, not to mention all the pictures scattered everywhere for the picture board I'm making and my trunk is loaded down with decorations. My sister who is retired Navy and brother-in-law who is a Senior Chief at one of the MEPS stations will be in town so very excited.
This week will be a blur, but glad I'll be so busy. Might help keep my mind off things.
