Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 932

Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I got a letter from my son today! He is doing well. Says they started practicing with their flags. He is West Virginia so I looked long and hard at their flag so I could spot him at PIR!

A's mom.  Ship 02 DIv 932

I am just joining & 19 days to go.  I am sooo excited & nervous for my daughter.  She is nervous about the gas chamber.

I am reassuring her that she can do anything.  Any thoughts?

My son is actually excited for the gas chamber :). My husband was in the Navy years ago and told him its not that bad and over with before you know it. I think my SR is excited because its a story to tell for the rest of your life!!! It's something very few can say they have done and people are always interested in hearing the story.

They should be doing their first PIR performance this coming Friday! I'm hoping the RTC Facebook page posts some pics and we can catch a glimpse!

My son was excited about the gas chamber and Battle Stations...two things he read up on and wanted to do.  Cant believe we are so close to graduation.  Seemed like not long ago I was so sad to see him leave...now I am so happy I have a few weeks and I get to see him and all that he has accomplished!!

It sure would be nice to get a phone call- its been weeks!!!!!

I know the feeling :-( I was hoping to get a call this weekend. Hopefully Hell week went well for all of our SR's.

Hi, my daughter is graduating from boot camp 6/21 as well. I am trying to find some hotels close by. Any suggestions? The letters I've received from my SR sounds as though it has been a hard adjustment for this div. Got a call on Mothers day and then a letter or so. I don't know if she will be calling any more or not. This time has been going so slow....cant wait to see her. But then I heard that she is leaving for A school that night. All this is new to me and I am not sure about finding out info. other that from her. Any other suggestions would be great.

stylisttam, Have you tried getting a room @ Navy Lodge? Other than that, I am not sure about close hotels. It sounds like this division can't quite get it together as a team, hopefully this has changed since i talked to my son. He said only 20/85 of the SR's acted like they even wanted to be there...that makes me sad, and also makes me wonder why they joined in the first place! I too haven't gotten a call since mothers day..kind of frustrating, but, as always no news is good news. Where is your SR going to A School? Mine will be going to Pensacola for Air Acadamy School, so I imagine he will be heading out the Sat after PIR? Let me know if you need Navy Lodge's phone # .

There is also information at www.bootcamp.navy.mil for hotels.  You can also google hotels close to the address they have on the form letter.  I am counting the days instead of weeks.  It is only 15 days until we leave to Chicago.

I am sending letters every 2 or 3 days to her with words of encouragement.  It helps her she says to hear them.

Send a letter today telling her not to panic in the gas chamber.  To breath normal with the mask on & to not rub her eyes afterwards.  Yes they are considered the worst division, but I am staying strong for her.  If we all send a letter telling them that Battlestations is all about teamwork & stress that, then maybe that will help them.  Hurry & send it because it takes 4 days for them to get letters & Battlestations is on the week of the 16th.  Their next call will be after their 7th week.

Who considers them the worst Division???

This is what my daughter said.

That makes me sad! :-(
