Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My son left yesterday 6/3
My son left for boot camp yesterday and I miss him terribly already. I witnessed his oath at MEPS, then sat with him at the airport until he left. Today I've wondered about him all day - what he was doing, how he is coping - it was a weepy day for me. I know he will be okay, just hope I can survive this journey.

Yes, you will both make it!
Join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in June, to connect with others with loved ones who left yesterday and may have PIR together. Once you know your SR’s PIR date and/or division number, join the group for that once it has been created--ellen or FTLW will post it on the main page here. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC will let you know what is happening. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and discussions in every group you join.
Staying informed and busy and connected with others who are going through the same things you are will help you as you go through your own version of Boot Camp since you are now a Navy Mom.
What will your SR's rating (job/specialty) be? There are groups for most of the ratings and/or "A" Schools.

There are no groups of just loved ones in Aircrew Survival Equipmentman (PR), but since "A" School is in Pensacola, FL at Naval Air Station Pensacola, you will want to check out Sailors In Pensacola, FL For A School....Corry Station too!! and Parents of A School Sailors in Pensacola. You may find some loved ones with a Sailor with that rating in AIRCREW and Airman Family and Friends. The Rating Information Card for PR can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/pr.pdf.

my son left yesterday for MEPS and left for Great Lakes tonight. He should be arriving soon. Can't wait to talk to him.

My son left this morning, 06/04/13. I held it together for him, but cried all evening! Especially after the phone call. I could hear the nervousness and anxiety in his voice--a mother knows. I have no idea how I am going to make it through the next 8 weeks. Hopefully, a lot of support from this site and prayer.

Hoping to receive the box tomorrow. We are from Western NY, just outside of Buffalo. I wish he would have known about this website before he left! He found YouTube videos's instead. I haven't slept well all week, hopefully week 2 will be better for them and us :) Having a hard time "being happy" and focusing--just not myself. Does anyone else feel like this? Even my husband is a little down.

my son arrived in GL on the 4th as well. Wonder if they are together? We've made it through the "first" Friday, we only have 8 left! I received his box today :) I agree with you, praying helps tremendously!
