While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 243 and 244
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

I thought I would bring this over from another thread so you all could see it. Ir was posted by a mom whos' som had PIR this past Friday.

to DIV 244 moms: I dropped my sailor son off at the chapel on base at 6:15 last Friday evening after his PIR that day. As we paused a moment in the car for a few last words, your recruits came marching by the chapel. They were wearing their blue camouflage uniforms and carrying large black backpacks. My son said they have to carry them all of the time. I don't know much about marching but my son said they looked good. I was certainly wishing I could take a few pictures for all of you, but it is strictly forbidden to take pics outdoors on base, and my son was a fanatic about the rules! I wanted you to know that they looked good and your PIR will be here before you know it!

Sorry I didn't post yesterday--summer classes have started and homework! I got letters yesterday so keep an eye out! They are short--but getting any is a miracle for someone who hates writing! His log is his challenge, imagine that! Remember they are counting down too!

Bad news from our SR tonight. She has been ASMOed to medical Division 2341 and will not be graduating on 6/28. We don't know the details yet as she was only allowed a short call to tell us and give us her new address. I know she hurt her knee about 2 weeks ago, but she indicated the problem is with her foot, ankle and thigh, and something is torn.
I was so looking forward to meeting all of you at PIR :(. I know you will have a great experience on the 28th proudly watching your SRs. Our SR will get there when she's cleared and we'll get to enjoy her big day then.

Hi Cindyloohoo...Thanks for asking about my SR. She has stress fractures in her foot, ankle, and thigh, but nothing (thank God) is torn. She called yesterday and was very upbeat and positive about the RCU staff and her new shipmates. They are very supportive of one another. She is off the crutches as of yesterday and has been upgraded from Phase 1 to Phase 2 (there are 4). Once she is completely healed, which may take 6-8 weeks, she will just have to pass her PFA and do BS21 to graduate. When the SRs are this close to finishing when they're hurt, they don't get to participate in a PIR ceremony. They go to a holding area for about a week after they pass everything and then go to their A-School. I'm disappointed about no PIR, but she's OK with it...just wants to finish basic and move forward.

So when will I hear from my son again? He is due to graduate on June 28th but no word yet. He did inform me that he will be leaving on Sat the 29th for Everett,WA so if anyone has input please do so.

Is he division 243/244? If so, you should be getting a phone call sometime today! Yay!
My SR called yesterday to say that she has not yet passed the run. She had another opportunity yesterday and another tomorrow for chances to pass and attend PIR as scheduled. I'm so heartsick for her.
