For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My son leaves MEPS on June 10 2013 from Chesapeake VA

I cant stop crying this will be the hardest thing ever for me. Im so very proud of him but its so difficult to let go.

I cried too for the 1st 2 days... Our dog paces back and forth in front of his room looking for him- that breaks my heart! I'm sure that they all will help each other as they are all in the same boat - no pun intended!! :)

We dropped my son off at the recruiters today, he flies out tomorrow. We are from Houston.

She just left for MEPS...we will be meeting her there for the swearing in. I have dreaded this day and it's finally arrived. She is excited but nervous. I am so proud and sad at the same time..this is going to be a long day

So we dropped my Christopher off at the recruiters yesterday..today 6/10 about 9 am I receive a text that he isn't shipping out till Wednesday.. Meps had him as a reservist :( so he had to be discharged today and re-enlist. So we will be redoing the drop off again tomorrow at 4 pm

Hello moms...Bre left today...she is now in Illinois....I miss her so much!!! I just want her to be OK! I hate the idea of her bring yelled at or having a rough time! Just not use to not taking care of her and making sure she is OK....I know she chose this but...I'm mom! Lol

Thank you! This is rough! I'm a teacher, so I am off for the summer. Trying to think of things to keep me busy! Bre's mom, I know what you mean about being worried about not being there if they are being yelled at or having a rough time. It is hard not being there for him to call and tell me about what is going on! Prayers for everyone!

Jemsproudmom. My son arrived on the 10th too! Just got his box yesterday. Make sure you are on the Bootcamp for Mom's (and loved ones too) group. There are "experienced" moms who really bring their knowledge and comfort to the group. They will lift you up when you are feeling down. But please know that I am here too going through exactly the same thing you are! What will your son's job be? And where are you from? We live in New Jersey and my son is going to be an Air Rescue Swimmer - special ops. So I am feeling extra scared, anxious, worried - you name it!

My son Christopher was also suppose to arrive the 10th but because of a snafu in his paperwork then flight being delayed he arrived yesterday. He also has a contract from Air Rescue Swimmer. We are in Maryalnd but just moved here 6 months ago originally from New Jersey :)

I grew up in Toms River then have lived in Lanoka Harbor since Christopher was born (18 years). Miss Jersey alot. I know when Christopher was at MEPS on monday he did meet another AIRR. I believe they will be in same division from what I was reading they only have the 800 division about a dozen times a year. Got his phone call last night. :( Since we moved he has been my sanity.
