For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 245 and 246
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Found a pic of my husband on the Facebook link!!! It was one of them in the yellow shirts. And he's DIV 245. Yay!!! I'm so excited!!

Rws9d245- haha no way! That's so funny! I bet your son is on the list of friends my husband listed when I asked who his friends were. That's so awesome. He thought it was cool that I got to talk to people who were actually family of his division.

If you search Facebook navy recruit training command and open their page there is an album on their Facebook called "random photos" (I think that's what is it). But click on that album and start flipping through photos. I found my husband (div 245) in one where they're wearing yellow shirts. I had my mom post "ship 9 div 245" on it, I think there's more than one of SR's in yellow shirts, so look for a Connie saying the ship and div and that's the one. And you don't have to have a Facebook to view the pictures.

If they asked for it I don't think it should be an issue. They might make him open it in front of them. But I don't think they're too strict about paper products lol I wonder if you'd be able to get one of those flat rate envelopes from the post office. That way they wouldn't have to worry about putting enough stamps.

Yes, you can send a manila envelope to them to send letters home, it is not a problem.
You can go to USPS and they have a calculator so you can estimate postage amount, then add more. :) Just be sure to put your address as both "to and from" that way if there is an issue it will come to with postage due to you.
