My son arrived June 20 at GL... I received his 15 second phone call around 5:00pm. We are missing him terribly. Just wondering who else's children arrived that day. I have picked up my phone many times to call or text, but then I realize its going to be a long 8 weeks. Also wondering how everyone else is filling their time... I think I need a hobby this summer:)

We are so lost without him.. He has a twin sister and this is the first time they have been apart for an extended time. She is really struggling with it. She waited all day for the "BOX" today.. Not exactly sure how to make her feel better.. I am very blessed though that he has wonderful friends who still come over daily to cheer her up:) We are from Indianapolis, so it's not to far of a drive when they are finished at GL... Where will your daughter be going for A school? He is going to Pensecola.

My son arrived at GL on the 20th, as well. I got the 10 sec call around 7pm. I've been trying to keep myself very busy. Sometimes I just go in his  room and sit! It's so strange not to have him here. But, I'm not crying all the time now. So, at least that is getting better! :)

I think he will be staying in GL for A school.

Today has defiantly been a better day, only cried a couple times, I'm just trying to stay busy. Nights are the hardest for me, because he always told me goodnight and i love you!! Does day 1 of bootcamp start for them tomorrow? I have written letters everyday so that has helped to, I just can't wait to get his address and send them out

my son left here on the same day...was ok the first day then on friday I could barley hold it togehter. This site and all the info has been so helpful, the hints and suggestions, the not knowing is harder for me, and like others have said, not being able to pick up the phone and do the usual miss you how are you call SUCKS!!! I cannot wait to ge the form letter- I have a stack of letters already to mail out, and I hope the time flies!!!

My son left the 20th too. This last year went by so quickly. It's been surreal. I hope my son felt all the love and support from his family. I was scared, afraid. And I hope he knows how excited we are. I didn't want him to feel bad when he announced last year that mom I joined the Navy!  He was so proud of the decision he made. So mature. He grew up right before my eyes. What happened to my10 lb baby? He's in the Navy now!

I received the BOX yesterday, no letter yet though:( ... It was like Christmas when we received the box... we all gathered around as his sister opened it... Hopefully I receive the letter soon, I have written everyday and cant wait to get them sent out!!! I hope you receive your box soon:)
