Hi there. We were thrilled to get the form letter listing four people and then heartbroken to discover that this number was in error and that someone will be cut. We are a very close knit divorced family and deciding which parents and siblings got to stay was hard enough. Now it's even more so. I know that this must be very stressful for our recruit.
It would be nice if the odd man out parents of other families could watch graduation via the internet together. Does anyone know of a place in the area that does this? If not, here's a prime business opportunity opening up for someone.

Perhaps someone who is at the Navy Lodge, or one of the other Hotels close by, could check with them and see if there is a conference room or something that could be "borrowed" for the morning and then throw an internet PIR watching party. :)
We're staying at the Navy Lodge, but for mass viewing we would need a projector and computer. Since we are traveling by plane with an infant, bringing these with us isn't an option. I was hoping someone/business was hoping to capitalize on the situation and host such events. Thanks for the suggestion though.
It would only take a couple of laptop computers for people to gather around and watch it together.
I have a projector and laptop. shoot I even have the pull down screen. We will be staying at the Navy Lodge and now our SR's grandparents (former navy) has to sit there while we go to Graduation. I am the only computer saavy person in our family and no one will be there to set it up and make sure it runs good. A lil leary on how the wifi is at Navy Lodge to pick this up since everyone in their rooms could be using up the bandwidth.
I believe you have to purchase wifi at Navy Lodge, at least it was that way a long time ago. It would be nice if they could have a common area for all to watch the livestream!
I am very techsavy and will be at the Lodge watching via internet because of the number of allowed participants. We're over by one and I am the only one the baby will stay with without issue. If you want to bring the stuff, I would be more than glad to get it up and running for your family. I too am a little leary about bandwith. Let me know if this is a possibility and I'll check with the Lodge and see if we can set up somewhere central and with no/little cost. That would be awesome.
By the way NavyMom2005 ship 03 Div 287 8/9 I am from Tennessee as well. Flying in on 8/8 from Nashville on Southwest.
Just got a call from my SR. His brother has to report back to school a week early, just before PIR. So our needed seat list just shrunk to the necessary 3. Hate to recind my offer, but it looks like I'm heading to PIR after all. Hope you have a safe drive in. Maybe we'll bump into you at the Lodge
HI I have a question. the letter I got from the navy that they mail us with the address and grad date has 4 names on it. for graduation ...does that mean only 3 can go in? im confused?
