Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 295 and 296

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Gm all, also got my first phone call yesterday.. The connection was terriable and our phone call was very emotional on my Sr's part I held it in till we hung up. He said he's not sleeping very well and very little he sounded exhausted but I'm sure that's to be expected he misses home says there's lot of studying and PT not time for much else.. I couldn't tell if he was sick or not like I said our connection was really bad.. Yesterday was a rough day for me just hearing his voice and knowing when we hung up he had to wipe all the emotion off his face.. He said sonething about having to do xtra pt because he was last for something.. I got very little of the conversation due to connection.. But it was good to hear his voice

I think extra PT is pretty normal at this stage of BC. My SR said he was given extra PT (push ups) on Friday because he only wiped down the surface of the supply cabinet once, not twice. :)  The sooner they learn how to do things the Navy way, and work together as a team, the sooner the yelling and extra PT will stop. It will get better!

Something we should all be reminding our SR's to do is to help each other and work together. That's one of the key things they need to learn in BC.

Push divisions are divisions who have less training time (it would pertain to brother divisions). It is usually because the divisions have been put on hold for one reason or another, most of the time it is because they are waiting on females to arrive to finish filling the division.

My son was in a push. His division and brother divisions were the last two divisions of the TG and they were on p hold for sixteen days while waiting for 60 (yes 60) females to arrive.

Don't worry (although it will happen) they will get it all done in time.

My son called yesterday also and yes  they were on 1-4, he sounded so home sick. He says he has a hard time studying, all he can think about is all of us. He says he has had a few bad dreams. He also said having trouble marching due to someone cant keep time, I am sure they will all catch on and do fine. He says he has received letters and I asked him about only 3 attending PIR and he said he was sure it was 4 but we will just wait and see maybe they have not been informed yet. He also said mom this is the NAVY it never gets easier, you just learn to adjust to the NAVYS way.

I did everything I could to tell him to hang in there it will all be worth it in the end, but he is 18 and has never been away from home for more the 24 hours .

So glad I get to read about all of your family members that are on the same ship and DIV as my son.

Wow, we received a call from our son yesterday as well.  It was so good to hear his voice.  As with the reat of you I ahve been so worried about how he is adjusting to Navy life.  After reading your words, I'm second guessing our call.  Our son sounded good and seems to be adjusting well.  He did mention being in a PUSH division and passing his first PT test but, didn't go into details about exactly what it intailed. He feels like he passed his DEP test as well but, wouldn't know for sure for a few days.  He mentioned they are folding lots of clothes. ??  He is a leader of some sort in charge of both bathrooms.  And, they are doing a good job but a bug was found 15 minutes after cleaning and they lost some phone time because of it.  He likes the food for the most part which I was surprised about.  He spent a few hours with the dentist due to an issue they had with one of his fillings.  All in all he sounded good.  We were in the car and had him on speaker so my hisband and son could chat as well.  He spent most of his time asking them about NBA finals and draft.  told him I was worried because there were moms that had blogged about their SR injuries etc.  He thought they had lost something like 20 people for different reasons.  And, he had received my letters and asked that I not send more photos as he had to show them to a leader so he could see they weren't inappropriate.  He was planning on writing his first letter to me today.  I have been writing him everyday and updating him on various events.  Now, I will follow up with him on tomorrows letter to be sure he is ok and doing well.  He felt like we would get a call in another week or so which surprised me,  I hope that's true.  God Bless them all and we must stay strong and keep the faith as well...

The best 4th of July surprise ever, I received a letter from my SR.....
It was so nice to hear from him! I hope they all get to see a little bit of fireworks in the sky.

My SR is on same ship and division! He has always loved the 4th of July, but said they wouldn't be having fireworks.  I also read in the newspaper that lots of bases have had fireworks cancelled due to budget cuts.  We told our son that we'd do fireworks whenever he got to come home for a visit.  I haven't gotten a letter yet, but we did have a wonderful phone call last Saturday (6/29).

Hello moms got my first letter yesterday..My SR sounds good and positive he says just listen the first time your told and youll be ok...35 more days till PIR so xcited cant wait to see my son..Happy 4th of july my dearests..

My son is in 295 as well, I received a call on jun 29, he sounded good, didn't say anything about being sick. I received letters on jul 6, dated jun 14, 22. He seems to be doing good, he actually received a leadership position got moved up to an e-2, we are so proud of him. I sure do miss him, I thought we were aloud 4 guest, when we received the papers he had 4 listed?
